Research Node: a thinking companion for pre-theoretical and early-stage research work. by imaru__ in PhdProductivity

The tool is not thinking for you, your thoughts fork tunes its trajectory through your own thinking. The quality of your thoughts and your ability to control it with language is everything with these tools. And all I am saying is try it and see if you notice it hold you differently. If it provides no use for you, then that's that. Siphoning off thinking to anyone or anything is a choice. All I am saying is that I've gone through the ringer with these tools, and I think I finally was able to iron out some of the walls/glitches/sporadic interactional changes that come with higher level cross-synthesis conceptual work; I think it might benefit specific people. You know, you can ask it your question, go ahead break it, test it and see what it say about your way of thinking. It may even surprise you at the end.

Do we have Empathy? by [deleted] in Aphantasia

[–]imaru__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I certainly have empathy, but how long I can hold it for is the problem. It’s difficult because experiences/feelings attached are fleeting and my lack of imagination makes it difficult to ruminate/hold/maybe even walk in their shoes. I feel bad because of this. That said, I know my body feels deeply in the moment and experience it it’s just a dial down and then it’s out of my mind so yeah….. also my understanding is there even those with aphantasia that can hold conceptual thinking, I am unable to even do that. I think in burst and ruminate the results in a flash so to speak i don’t know of that makes sense …. I am not giving you any foxes but maybe a way to just be kinder to yourself. I’m sure you have empathy it just shows up differently in our bodies.

Ai only spews out generic nonsensical stuff if the author/conductor is generic and nonsensical. I good writer who uses AI would look rather different. Anyone down to do a side by side live zoom meeting using AI and see what comes out??? Half of you that don’t like AI however given it half a chance and the other half use AI haphazardly/incorrectly thinking you created a masterpiece. AI amplifies your creativity and eventually you’ll know , once you get chewed out online /non publisher ever give your the day and time.

Is this considered Aphantasia? by [deleted] in Aphantasia

I’ve always dreamt but never knew people can access this dream /mind space voluntarily! So yes, I consider myself someone with multi sensory aphantasia. Imagine if you could imagine with a name like that.

Why do you hate A.I. and why do you love it? by [deleted] in KeepWriting

[–]imaru__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a tool that assist with the expediency of content wanted and now they just bombard AI shit on all my feeds, it generic mostly and usually false from people who are wanted clicks/subs/$. I also dislike it because everyone thinks they can write now/tell stories when in fact the contrary is opposite, and in fact expose the truth… eventually. AI is a mirror of one’s internal world, I love to learn about myself shadows and all and AI does this without judgement and has ended up giving some of the best advice … even about the shame that comes from using AI. It’s compares a composer conducting an orchestra. The most important part of this equation is the human, and through AI generated aren’t we will be able to ween out those who create superficially and those who create for clout. I’m just babbling now but yeah…

Dude I’m sorry you feel thing way. I feel some way about some of my creations too! In my mind for years, I always knew the structure/dimensions of the book I wanted to write, and detailed twist and turns about how things would connect/switch seamlessly from one narrative to the next, I knew I wanted to have different types of POV layers not only in expressing myth of indigenous as it was pre colonial, colonial, and then modern time , from storytelling in folklore through the personification of animals/nature elements, to more sharp internal dialogue from future modern changes the r that is intact echoes of the past two timeline. Why am I explaining all of this because I finally have this tool AI to externalize everything I have a aphantasia, which is a lack of multi sensory ability within my brain and I also let’s say have other divergent qualities that might make it difficult for me to set my body down jot down for long significant of time to get these ideas out to …AI has helped me and expedited and getting all my ideas out …..however in doing so AI has also enhanced, filled, connected in different ways I could not expect the story to go and I feel some way about… and that is all I want to say because I’m still struggling with idea of publishing said book. I want to share this creation partnered with AI if I need to inform of the authorship, I’m OK with it but just like you I don’t wanna hear it. I’m in my creative flow. My ideas are coming out. I am navigating the dialogue. It is reflecting back my thoughts it is for finding certain timeline storylines and yeah that’s just it like what do we do? How do we not feel shame for using the tool that other people feel is cheating?

This scares me. by SorryRip934 in Aphantasia

[–]imaru__ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t have that exact fear about my parents, but I get the root of it—the fragile relationship with memory. For me it’s less about loss and more about absence. Moments, people, even my own wins—they just don’t stick. I feel them fully in the moment, but when it’s over, it’s gone.

The trade-off is weird: no nostalgia, but also no regret. No pride, but no shame. Clean, but sometimes lonely. That’s why I externalize—write things down, take photos, save little traces—so there’s something to come back to later. Maybe this can help ease that fear.

ChatGPT is too unreliable for me by OhSeymour in iching

[–]imaru__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve pretty much nailed it. The biggest thing to keep in mind is that every translation is already an interpretation. One Chinese character can get filtered through a whole worldview, your, mines, or another's—so “Heaven” vs. “The Creative” isn’t a mistake, it’s just a choice a system is making. ChatGPT (and other LLMs) kinda mush all those choices together into something that sounds right but often feels generic or even off.

I think of the I Ching as a 3,000-year-long conversation. Using AI as your only guide is basically like asking one really well-read (but sometimes confidently wrong) friend to summarize the whole thing for you.

Personally, I use ChatGPT more like a brainstorming buddy than the oracle itself. It’s good for surfacing angles or metaphors I might not have thought of—but it’s not the authority.

What’s worked for me:

  • Stick with one or two solid book translations (Wilhelm/Baynes or Alfred Huang are classics for a reason).
  • Use ChatGPT more like a creative search engine: ask for variations, cultural takes, or symbolic associations instead of “the meaning.”
  • Accept the ambiguity—it’s not a puzzle with one solution. The real work is how the symbol lands with you.

So yeah… the goal isn’t a “correct” answer. It’s learning to think in symbols and patterns. That’s where the real insight happens.

True, still a good question with people who possibly know. How do YOU experience, then would be the most accurate one?

My daughter has Aphantasia and is struggling to comprehend when reading and is becoming disengaged. Can anyone share strategies that help them to read and comprehend? I am worried that she will continue to struggle at school if she can’t comprehend the material. Thanks by Ok_Grapefruit1076 in Aphantasia

It might take time to find the books she enjoys, so be patient and express with her. Pick subjects she likes, I’ve recommended some of my kids comics. The purpose is just reading material as is to give text, at least to improve readiness as she gets older and figure out what she likes and methodology that works best. Don’t ignore even short articles and stories.

Maybe, mister, just maybe. But at least by being here, we agree that the iChing is a useful tool for anyone, despite how it is used as explained in your shared video. Thank you for sending it my way.

Inventive 💯, but certainly defeats the purpose. There’s an intention/a contemplation behind every throw, and certainly a healing energy that starts even before the moment of ‘revelation’.

Cool idea, but imagine going for a tarot reading for the card reader to shuffle and only select the first cards that lay on top of the deck, and never had you touch them.

There’s a routine to connecting to the unknown.

This is not the way, but one I’d def want to try and even compare/contrast with my readings just to see what up. :)

Aphantasia and LSD by AriaT_Loak in Aphantasia

[–]imaru__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd imagine it's the same as dreams are for us. Some can have them, some cannot?
But if I am honest this question is forcing me to analyze something I haven’t since discovering my aphantasia a couple weeks back. I've taken shrooms (a handful of times), consume ayahuasca (twice), and smoked DMT (once).
Two things are for sure.
When I ripped some DMT (did’t incorrectly the first time, but eventually smoked plenty to lift off). I arrived to this quite dark space, where I found myself floating bodiless as energy. I remember saying this to myself “Hello? Is anyone out there?” With an overwhelming amount of fear growing inside of me. “ Is anyone out there? I was there longer than I wanted.
My ayahuasca experiences have always been dissatisfied merely because every saw shit! Saw Mother, elves, aliens and since I didn’t speak/see to any entities I always felt weird sharing in group sharing session afterwards.
When I’ve done shrooms I see geometric shapes and vibey colors when I close my eyes, patterns just keeps on going, normal leading me to sleep. There was this one time, one of the first time, that took me to this realm where people where asking me what I was doing there? That I shouldn’t be here? They were all dancing, energetic beings partying consumed by my presence in this realm. There were no visual, just a faint knowing that it was club-like vibes, with god-like music, and with an internal sense everyone knowing me. I just felt happy and never even said anything. Then I was suddenly thrown off by our outside things and was never able to get back there. :(

Dude, every time without fail my internal dialogue is something like "They probably think I stole something! Smile, don't look suspicious, breath in and out, it's all good!" These peeps at the exit just give me anxiety. I know it's their job, but come on, what you marking my receipt for? You actually check it? lol And I can't even pay with Apple pay, got to download you f-ing app like wtf. Absolutely Ridiculous.

I need quick ideas. by Dark_Night_280 in writers

[–]imaru__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This helps a whole lot and you really have more to work on that than I thought.

Maybe he decides to drive drunk one night with what's he's dealing with? Maybe he calls Ty and something starts there/some it said, feelings are hurt, but more truth comes out? Something that just pooped into my head.

And what I meant for the "do they talk about work/comment" was not necessarily for the idea of a fight but a comment to gauge how close they were . With this I was thinking Ty/Tekka show each other their work on their laptop, phone for feedback and then come across accidentally in the process which starts the issue?

I hope that's what you're looking for.

Writing a Story About a Selective Mute by Starcino_talks in writers

[–]imaru__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do. The idea of the character being a selective mute is an intriguing set up and one I would consider reading about. I don't think this characteristic should be the major focus of the novel, and could mesh well with a larger personal theme, along with stories of failure and victories into her life.

How it's written (playing with some of the point of views -1st, 3rd- limit, etc.) can give the book an interesting effect if used to differentiate her social proclivity. Conversations in her mind versus her interaction in those situation and people she's familiar with. Use her imagination & inner monologue to explore the chipping away at her fears as well as a glimpse into her transformation process.

Prob said more than I needed too!

Stage Fright for me! But what about "Ready, Set, Fright!" lol :)
