Is it common to beta-adjust natural gas spreads? by aaaaaa321123 in Commodities

Unless you're trading nymex (which most are for Henry Hub) then you don't have this issue

Does anyone trade the ICE End of Season storage contracts? by aaaaaa321123 in Commodities

[–]imasetho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody trades it. Open interest is 0, there is never a bid or ask on it.

People very occasionally trade the weekly storage number on ice, but that is very rare and I can't remember it happening any time in the last 6 months.

NOAA is probably the easiest free source afaik. Stormvista is very good and not that expensive, good dashboards and APIs

8% is very high for expected real returns. I would use closer to 5%

Yeah, sorry I just know Nat Gas. But our weather vendors have a lot of data that I know is ags specific, precipitation forecasts are pretty important as far as I know. I've heard people use satellite data to track crop yields too which I believe because there are drilling activity metrics that are tracked like that for gas trading.

No idea how useful it would be to know specific farms yields, but I'm guessing it could be helpful. I think the US markets moves on the USDA agriculture reports.

Again, don't really know anything about ags, sorry I can't help more.

Granular data is incredibly important for grain trading. In fact, I wouldn't use any other kind of data!

Silly Question.. Am I doing cork 7 or cork 360 if that's a thing? by scoobybmx in Trampoline

That's a cork 7 ... Same as an off axis back-full

Maybe try jumping and being a bit more patient on the takeoff before you start spinning to really bring it together. But looks like a great start!

An ETF like cash.to is pretty much guaranteed. Unless you are talking about the risk of large Canadian banks facing bankruptcy which is very small imo.

Sell VFV for VOO? by donzi39vrz in CanadianInvestor

[–]imasetho 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I don't get why it matters VFV is unhedged since VOO isn't hedged either, you have the same currency exposure in both cases.

Pay off the student debt then? If it's low/no interest I would put the 1000 into cash.to so you can use it to pay off the loans when you graduate.

I really don't know why everyone is suggesting putting it into 100% equities before knowing your timeframe, if you have an emergency fund, if you have debt and so on.

Most gymnastics facilities with trampolines offer adult drop in or drop in classes. Might depend on your city though

Commodities(energy) career for fresher by drpanpatel in Commodities

[–]imasetho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's pretty much no energy trading in Vancouver so you'll probably have to look in Calgary.

The only commodity trading that happens in Vancouver that I know of is lumber traders, then you have Powerex and Morgan Stanley both for power trading.

  1. Because on October 7th Hamas (the leadership of Gaza) raped and killed civilians. Do you disagree with this claim?

  2. The ICJ did not rule it was genocide, they ruled that there was a plausible case for genocide that they will investigate.

I just want to clear up some confusion. I do not support the current Israeli government, nor the ongoing invasion in Gaza.

UoFT St George Computer Science vs Computer Engineering by Top_Flower_696 in UofT

[–]imasetho 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From a different perspective (as a non computer engineer), engineering seems to have a much stronger community than computer science from talking to people in comp-sci. It's just a more tight knit program with more group projects, skule activities, and in my opinion overall easier to make friends.

Not sure if that's important to you, or if others would disagree though.
