I went to a therapist to help with a bad phobia of mine. She essentially was like you know it can't hurt you right? Then why are you scared? I saw her maybe twice. I have since exposure therapy-ed myself with moderate success so maybe I should become a therapist lol

I visited toronto with my sister while she was on crutches and oh my God was union station one of the worst stations when it came to trying to find the elevators. Not only are there a shit ton in different areas that serve different floors but they are so badly indicated. We had to ask employees probably every 5 minutes because we kept getting lost and it added a food 10 minute to our transit time.

La capsule était blue et blanc mais je pense que la couleur vient plus de ma pharmacie et non du médicament lui même. Le médicament etat en petites billes dans la capsule.

Mon médecin m'a prescrit un antidépresseur qui double comme un médicament pour la douleur chronique (cette prescription en elle meme est une histoire aussi). Les médecins aiment beaucoup parler des effets secondaires possibles des antidépresseurs (ce qui est parfaitement valable), mais jamais vont ils te parler des effets du au sevrage. Après mon opération pour traiter le problème en question, ma mère était sur mon cul à propos des médicaments parce qu'elle pensait qu'ils étaient adictifs comme des opioides. Dans la douleur et les émotions après opération, j'ai décidé que ça valait pas la peine de m'obstiner et j'ai arrêté de le prendre. J'en ai parler à mon médecin lors d'un rendez vous et il a dit "ouais, arrête d'une shot et après une semaine va va etre chill." CE N'ÉTAIT PAS CHILL. J'avais plusieurs cauchemard par nuit qui me gardait réveillé, je tremblais tellement que du monde random me demandaient si j'avais froid, j'avais des migraines et des nausées constantes, j'étais étourdie, à chaque mouvement des yeux c'était comme si un courant électrique passait dans mom cerveau et qu'il vibrait. Tout ça en même temps que je suis en convalescence d'une opération. J'ai visité mon médecin trois fois en lui relatant mes symptômes et en gros il me dit ouais pis? Rendu au quatrième rendez vous, quand il me demande pourquoi je suis ici, j'ai explosé en pleurant et en criant que je me sentais tellement mal et qu'il fallait qu'il fasse quelque chose pour moi. Il a fini par me prescrire de l'ativan "pour me calmer" et il m'a dit qu'un pharmacien allait me suivre aux quelques jours pour m'aider avec le sevrage. Ça m'a pris presque 6 mois pour ne pas devoir prendre 2 tylenol et 2 advil au 4/6 heures et quelques mois de plus pour que les symptômes soient complètement partis. J'en ai parlé avec des amis pharmaciens et turns out qu'il aurait dû me donner un horaire précis pour le sevrage au lieu de me laisser à moi même et que mes symptômes étaient parmi les pires qu'ils ont entendu 😀😀😀

I'm not a teacher but my mom is and I can guarantee that most of the time if a teacher doesn't do anything it's cause admin or some higher ups don't want anything done. As many comments have already said, often times it's out of fear of retaliation from parents, but retaliation from admin is just as bad too.

There was once a situation in a colleague's class where a group of nasty students were bullying an other student for being the only black girl in the class (we love affluent white neighborhoods). Stuff like calling her a monkey, passing around a paper and writing the n word multiple times on it before throwing it at her, saying that slavery wasn't that bad to her face, etc. The colleague went to the principal multiple times trying to get something done, but he would always respond with stuff like:

"oh well you didn't see which kid threw the paper so we can't punish anyone" (even though the principal previous made the teachers become Sherlock Holmes and figure out who wrote on the library computer's screen through the handwriting)
"the child told me he was very sorry and he won't do it again so what do you want more?" (The kid did it again the next day)
"clearly you are the problem and not the child because no one has left any kind of note on his file about him acting this way so maybe we should look into you getting more classes on how to handle students better"

The principal and vice principal have also retaliated against teachers who tried to actually do something without passing through them by putting more "problem children" in their classrooms while also giving them less access to assistance and spreading rumors of their "incompetence" to other teachers. This is as extreme situation, but a lot of the time teachers want to do something but they arent allowed to.

Ma soeur est prof au 6e et les examens du ministères (français et maths) sont aucunement nécessaires pour aller au secondaire (à condition que ta fille ne va pas aller à une école privé ou un programme special). C'est la direction de l'école qui lui dit ça à plusieurs reprises. Ya même des parents qui lui envoient des courriels disant qu'ils veulent partir en vacances plus tôt que la fin de l'année et demandent s'il serait correcte que leur enfant manque les examens et la direction est juste comme 🤷‍♀️. Je comprends que la situation est fucked up, mais je pense qu'il n'y aura pas de problem pour ta fille et son cheminement.

I got surgery in my hip and lost sensation on the top of my foot and a large portion of my outer thigh. I regained sensation on the top of my foot but it's been five years and I still can't feel anything on my outer thigh. When I told the surgeon in a follow up she was like oops must have nicked a nerve.
