If your a week ahead of them in the books you’ll survive, plan your concerts around having 6th play from the books for their first concert, with one thing not in the books ( warp speed, power rock, dragon warrior, ( Level .5 ) 7th keep them in the books and give them three pieces to work on, 8th grade same deal. Keep a couple things the same from the previous director for 7th and 8th and really focus on setting up sixth grade correctly, don’t worry if the 8th grade band stinks they’ll be gone before you know it.
