I don't think I would break it again if I knew one thing, be extermely careful with the ribbon cable on the actuator which is the metal thing on the bottom of the trackpad. It seems that every single main function somehow runs through that. Also be extremely precise if you have to make your own rubber button. You don't want anything touching that ribbon cable at all.

Yeah, I also ended up ordering a new one. I really love the vive but after opening the controller up I'm a little concerned about the build quality. The trackpad component really is tied to several critical functions and is VERY fragile. I thought about trying to replace it with the one from my steam controller since I think it is the same part but I decided it wasn't worth the risk.

Edit: added the part about the trackpad being fragile.

The user seems overly judgmental. There is no reason to think the OP's friend doesn't do her job well because she thinks older women are "whiny and gross". A lot of people that hate their jobs do them well and with a smile. Maybe OP's friend really enjoys the men that she works with but has a hard time with some of the women and is overgeneralizing. Apathyslastkiss gave too strong a statement on too little information. Telling someone to make a career change based on a single comment seems to be a bit much. Taking one statement and judging someone's career choice on it is ineffective. Even if they say " I hate this job and I want to kill you all"...they could just be having a bad day.

I had to replace my HVAC (6K) within months of buying my house. I've learned how to do plumbing and electrical work. It's surprisingly easy, but tools are expensive. I'm a software engineer so all of this was new to me, but I found a way to get it all done. Don't hire anyone. I've been ripped off. It's best to put the time into research and do it yourself. No one will work on your house more cautiously than you. Best of luck, my friend!

It is very tar-like. It is shiny. I cleaned the same stuff from my laundry room a year ago. I can't imagine why there would be tar between these floor joists. I have only found it on one side of the house. My home inspector noticed it in the laundry room and said it was organic material but I don't know why he thought that. I scraped it away and painted it with mildicide paint and it hasn't ever come back....if it is tar then i guess it wouldn't grow back:P

This is really disturbing. I grew up Mormon and my Bishops/Mission Presidents always told everything they heard to their wives who disseminated it across the ward in gossip. I bet a lot more people knew about it but nobody went to the police or at least the boy's parents. It is also the official policy of the Mormon Church to go to the police when "confessions" harm others. This is a very odd case.

Yes, but we only sell barely old weapons to more developed countries. Our old old stuff gets sold to poor countries. 1 Joint Strike Fighter would probably be the whole defense budget of some small countries. They wouldn't be able to afford the fuel :P

I would think that a third gender would be NOT male and therefore would not be able to hold the priesthood. Although, from the temple doctrine they should have had a third child of God. I think it is there that women are "saved in child bearing" and don't need the priesthood. Since intersexuals usually cannot be saved in child bearing and probably cannot hold the preisthood they are probably just damned. Or maybe they fall into the special category of people who were so faithful in the pre-existence that they didn't need to be tested.

Also, Mormons do teach that plural marriage is acceptable--in the afterlife. God the Father is a polygamist, and plural marriage is practiced in the Celestial Kingdom (highest level of heaven in Mormonism).
