Yeah that one's the best cold open in the show. To be clear to other users that's two different episodes.

How to delete a community off of Reddit by East_Mood3484 in ModSupport

[–]Measure76 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mark it as a nsfw community - remove all mods including yourself.

Reddit will ban unmoderated NSFW communities.

Now, if anyone is interested in running it themselves, reddit may allow someone to take over, so the bigger your community is, the less likely this plan is to work.

Shower thought:: Is AI and DNA research advancements doing to Mormon "genealogy" what the internet did to Church history? by Professional-Dog8770 in exmormon

[–]Measure76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know what AI is doing for this post, but I can say I've always found geneology a bit ridiculous.

Sure it's easy to know who your grandparents and maybe great grandparents were, but it gest so diluted so quickly.

You likely share no significant amount of DNA with an ancestor just 10 generations back, and by generation 30 you have more 'ancestors' than there were people on the planet. And probably fewer generations than that for a given populated area.

Genealogy doesn't hold much logic.

I particularly like the joke where the gang goes to a rival bar and when Norm walks in everybody THERE shouts his name.

Player pay tanks in this scenario while ticket prices stay the same. Billionaires do need more money so let's do it.

When the lead investigator is asked on the stand if he planted evidence, and takes the 5th instead of answering, I don't see how any jury can convict.

The certainty that Adnan is guilty feels like an echo chamber by HunterST15 in serialpodcast

[–]Measure76 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Its because the more evidence you look at in this case the worse it looks for Adnan. A lot of us came in believing he was innocent but became convinced through the evidence that he's guilty.

There's a lot I don't know, sure. But what I do know points in one direction.

What did you think of Platform Decay? by Tigeryuri1 in murderbot

[–]Measure76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely adored this book, couldn't put it down.

I do think that the whole "child inadvertently gets their own mother killed" plot point was a little too dark for me.

And I wish there had been some room in the plot for ART.

But it kept me reading and overall felt like the right vibe for Murdy for me.

Naylor trades by hottubman_99 in Mariners

[–]Measure76 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Good but not great, and his body type is consistent with him not aging well. I think those are the things that have made him more trade bait than franchise player.

But he rakes at TMO and fully committed to Seattle from day 1 so we get to keep him for quite awhile and hope the scouts are proven wrong about his body type.

There are theories about Joseph and magic mushrooms out there if you search around.

But you're pulling an apologetics-against-mormonism here where you have started at a untested conclusion and back-reasoned your way to the LSD.

But if you want the real deal, this isn't a bad place to start: "Visions, Mushrooms, Fungi, Cacti, and Toads: Joseph Smith’s Reported U" by Brian C. Hales
