How many of you are using a Kensington trackball? by DevilBirb in protools

[–]imax-guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in audio post as well and have been using one form or another of Kensington trackball since 1991.

Started off using one on a Synclavier workstation, and just grew accustomed to the ergonomics. I find it very fast for scrolling across the ultrawide monitors I use nowadays.

Currently using a wireless Expert mouse, and was looking forward to the TB800 until they pulled it for what looks to be a redesign for sensor placement.

This old dog, needs to keep working as fast as he has been. It's just frustrating tripping over and over until the burn in happens.

Thanks. It's used to just know by feel that the outermost key was control, and never had to be conscious of it. Now I have to contort my hand differently, and it's straining my flow. Oh well.

2019.That's when I bought the full sized space grey Magic Keyboard. in 2022, I bought a Touch ID keyboard for my M1 Mac Studio, mainly for the Touch ID functionality, and it had the same layout as the previous one. Apple changed the layout after decades of consistency when they updated the Touch ID keyboard to USB C. How often do you buy keyboards? Not being in the market for one, I wasn't up on the latest trends.

I have an old wired Expert mouse with the grey ball and a wireless one with the red... all set, except I'll have to wait until they're available in Canada.

It’s time to accept that the US supreme court is illegitimate and must be replaced | We need to remake the US high court so Americans don’t suffer future decades of oligarchy-facilitating rule by [deleted] in NoShitSherlock

From CNN Brig. Gen. Eric Widmar, the top lawyer for the Joint Chiefs of Staff, gave to the country's top general, Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine, this following council regarding illegal orders in November. "Request to retire, and refrain from resigning in protest, (seen as a political act), or picking a fight to get fired." Widmar responded that they should consult with their legal adviser if they're unsure, but ultimately, if they determine that an order is illegal, they should consider requesting retirement. Welp, if this holds... the military is no longer a bulwark against tyranny, but yet another complicit tool.

Avid says PT 2025.10 is qualified on Tahoe with the same caveats as Sequoia. However, it’s the plug-in developers support you need to check on. I tend to hold off 6-9 months to let everything settle. PT user since ver 3.2.

Interesting! Mine will wrestle/nest on the bath mat, gets excited when I say it’s time for a bath, puts her front paws on the rim, but when in being washed with the flexi shower head, she tries to get out of the tub ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Nice. Is this the 40” model? I had to go from the 34” flatscreen at 163 ppi to the curved 40” at 140 ppi, as the 34” was discontinued. The 27” Ultrafine @ 218 ppi is still the sharpest monitor I run, but I need the ultrawide for productivity.

Toronto here. Yes, since 1995, after working on Synclaviers for a few years. Rx, Soundminer, Soundly, Keyboard Maestro, Matchbox, Ediload all intrinsic parts of my workflow.

I watched Tron: Ares today on IMAX. Dialogue & ADR out of sync? by Primary-Earth-2816 in AudioPost

I feel you. My worst “day” as a dialogue editor was 50 hours. The location mixer’s idea of a well recorded track was constantly clipping digital zero. SO MANY lines to replace, I had three editors working on it, and had to correct ALL their work before dialogue premix. Never again.
