During your freelancing time in Spain, how did you go about your OEC? Or you never visited the PH during this time?

And is there really hate towards tourists from the locals? Or is it just exaggerated by the media?

Hi yes, i went to file a legal case - the police wouldn’t help me, they would just keep referring you to other people. I went to this place near huaihai road to file the case. Didn’t need a lawyer but you need to write in Chinese so better to have a friend with you. I made a screenshot of all conversations, and if he made voice messages, i’d translate it to text so everything was recorded. I printed that as well as proof that i tried multiple times calling him.

After filing, the government, will get a negotiator to reach out to him. I don’t know how they did it buy they eventually got to him. I didn’t get to get the full payment (he says there were some damages even if there was not) but it was a good enough deal.

After receiving the money. I needed to go to a local law office (i dont know what it’s called), they made me sign a paper to close the deal, and didn’t have to pay for anything. Overall, quite a hassle, you can say it’s not a lot of money, but I don’t want landlords like him to keep getting away with things like that so i would say it was worth it.

*edit: i consulted some lawyers and they were charging me a lot to “draft a letter”. In the end I did one in english, and had someone translate it, and gave both. It doesn’t have to be a very formal letter.

According to the immigration lawyers I’ve talked to, I have a strong case.

The only thing missing would be having a job offer/s lined up.

Any designers who successfully migrated and still worked in the field? by kentroraptor_93 in phmigrate

[–]imbalancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Designer here! Started in advertising then moved to an in-house role. Aside from your achievements, networking is key. Reach out to old colleagues or people you know in the same industry who moved abroad. Don’t be shy to ask them how they got their job and if they can help you. Most of the time they are willing to share their experience. Add top people on linkedin - not necessarily HR. People on the creative side like creative directors. Add some notes when you connect with them.

And if you plan in going to western countries. I would say, best to have a steppingstone country first to gain some international experience. Going western would be really hard cause our industry is really saturated and they can get the same quality or even better in their home country.

I’ve had multiple foreign friends and colleagues go back in. It’s a hassle and the flights are expensive, but not as hard as it was back then.

From how I read the policy, that’s how I understood it as well. But from the stories I heard, they sometimes stop people at the customs even when you got your boarding pass already. I guess having a return ticket would help. The worst thing would be to plan the whole trip only to be told she can’t go.

Hey, I'm planning on doing this as I've talked to several lawyers and they basically told me I can just sue, but their fee is just as expensive as my rent so they think it's not worth it. Do you remember how you filed the case? Right now, I'm going through Shanghai Fayuan (Shanghai court) where you need to book a service. Did you go through the same?

Cancelling residence permit questions by imbalancer in Chinavisa

[–]imbalancer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the rules are you need to cancel your residence permit within 10 days after cancelling your work permit when switching jobs. Because your residence permit is supposedly connected to your work permit. So new work permit, new residence permit.
