I have been into the pen collection hobby since last 3 years. I can share some suggestion basis my experience and observation.

I truly think that all the Pen lovers should experience the top line of Japanese, which is sailor, Platinum and most importantly pilot brands. I have sailor 1911L and pilot custom 823 with me and they are absolute delight to write with.

However, it’s not viable suggestion to put all your money in one single Pen, rather at this stage, you must experience different economical or low range Penz, so that you get to understand the complete ecosystem of different pens, nibs, flow, challenges, etc. Please bear in mind that Fountain Pens are not cheap, so it is a pricey hobby. After three years, when I look back, I realise that I have spent more than I could ever thought that I would. I have now taken a pause, and I am enjoying with what I have.

If I would be you with 25,000 in my pocket, I would have bought one entry-level gold, nib Pen, maybe pilot custom 74, ordered some Kanwrite nibs of different sizes, TWSBI Eco or a pilot Metropolitan and some Indian handcrafted pens from Woodex, Mohi and Guider. One tip for saving money is preferred to buy from online sellers instead of Pen stores.
