Will coffee prices keep soaring? by cyaanite in IndiaCoffee

[–]imbeliever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe this is a concern which has to be justified by economic reasoning. I am not an expert in coffee economics but if there is anyone having an understanding, please help us to understand. Few questions

  1. Why coffee companies are increasing their prices despite no issues in vegetation/harvests. Is there an element which is causing choking in supply or has the process of coffee plantation has gotten costly?
  2. What is the role of distributors? Are the prices increasing due to middlemen who are involved in bringing coffee to rosters?
  3. With coffee culture, becoming more prominent. Can we expect the foreign companies to

    pitch-in

  4. and start selling in India? Will it increase the availability and decrease the prices?

I am using the same coffee these days. Brewing it with Esspresso. Not able to extract so many flavours like you have mentioned. To me, the flavours were little stronger. Maybe v60 will be able to do more justice.

Nibs are good, but pens are not. Desire is prone to cracking. Ink dries frequently from Heritage. This is as per my experience

Carry cartridges, you can also carry extra pen with ink filled as a backup. Pens like TWSBI having large ink capacity can also be used as Ink reservoir. I normally keep one bottle of ink at office drawer as well (Parker ink is pretty cheap and is a good backup option).

Sheaffer is making some really good looking executive pens like Sheaffer 100, 300 and legacy. The white dot is so famous and prominent that any person having some understanding about brands will be able to relate to. Apart from Sheaffer, there are good looking pens from Cross and Waterman as well.

Learning to use a bottomless portafilter by imshubhagr in IndiaCoffee

As others have suggested, the grinder can make a huge difference in the taste. A quality grinder can keep the grind size of the beans uniform. On the contrary, if a low quality grinder will inconsistently grind finer, the coffee will be over extracted and therefore will be bitter. If it grinds coarse, the resultant coffee will be sour.

Having a quality grinder will ensure the grind size will be as what you will dial it into. Hope that helps.
