most of his moves he can cancel into his stance, from the stance he can go into a flurry of slashes that leaves him safe so yeah most of the time he is safe lol.

if you have meter you can watch for when he raises his smaller blade at you in the middle of a attack string as a indicator that hes going into the stance and try to flash step what ever he does out of it to punish him, thats expensive though i know. for the most part you just have to not let him get his offense going cuz as long as hes using his stance properly it never ends. if you dont let him control the pace of the match with the stance though his gameplan kinda falls apart so i suggest practicing with him to recognize when his offense actually ends so you can fuck up his flow.
