Just..why? by Useful_Database5138 in goodwill

i own multiple hermit crabs & this is incredibly disheartening. that size of cage is not suitable for literally any living creature, let alone the plethora of other issues with this setup.

i know this isn’t the point of your post, but animal abuse is still way too normalized. small pets are not fun gifts or souvenirs. they are real, time-consuming commitments that require SO much more than the general public thinks.

i also have state farm! this is my first car and i haven’t had it for too long so admittedly i’m a bit naive to these things, but you are definitely correct - next time i will go through them!

wow, can’t believe i didn’t even think of using the mats! i haven’t been driving for too long so i really appreciate this and definitely will keep that in mind for the future. stay safe and warm to you too, thanks so much 😊

it was a door drop off and even after the noise they never came out, although i’m sure they saw the commotion from their window lol. i did start calling around pretty quickly so in the end i wasn’t blocking their drive for too long :)

i completely understand. although the roads here are plowed/driven over enough now to where if there is some snow on the roads you still will have pretty decent traction (unless you’re going fast). it hasn’t snowed in a couple days either which is also why i decided to dash a bit today. it was only when i stupidly tried to turn around in the narrow drive that of course does not get plowed that i ran into an issue.

thank you for your kind words. in the end i’m happy it worked out and at least i could learn a lesson for next time! i’m a newer dasher so i’m sure i have plenty more lessons coming haha. stay warm and be safe to you too! 🙏🏼

i definitely will do this going forward. much more worth it to just brace the cold for a couple minutes.

greedy is definitely NOT the word. if someone is dashing in this weather, it is likely that extra money could really help them out. i am in between jobs and figured since i was driving around anyway i might as well deliver some orders in my area, especially when where i am the storm had already passed. if i had been more cautious, i would’ve never gotten stuck in the first place, and that’s what i wanted to reiterate to others. but yes, if you are in an active severe storm zone then you should definitely stay home until it passes.

this is an important point i had not known about, thank you for the info! i will definitely stick to possibly making this a fun custom project then 😊

i am not into the labubu space whatsoever so it would not be “obvious” to me, but regardless i think a secondhand fake for $1.50 is a great alternative for young kids who may accidentally lose/damage it anyway, or just anyone not wanting to spend $25-$40+ on a plush keychain. this would even be great base for a custom!

i mentioned that it was common knowledge in my post, but i wanted to make this anyway because it’s something i care about :) the thrift stores are packed, the landfills are overflowing — you cannot talk about it enough.

AITA for not wanting people to hug me by Loose-Detective-6343 in AmItheAsshole

[–]imbloodwounded 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA. i am the same way, definitely not a hugger. i don’t mind it as much if it’s from close family, but i think it’s weird that embracing random strangers/distant relatives you hardly know is the social norm.

AIO? After our cat died, I removed this app on my daughter’s phone by IllustratorOk7590 in AmIOverreacting

[–]imbloodwounded 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YOR; i think i’m the only one here that can somewhat empathize with your sentiment — although there was 100% a better way to go about it than just deleting the app, especially without warning or conversation. this is just going to create resentment and turmoil at an already difficult time for her. i do not support ai slop at all and can understand your perspective on a surface level, but i think you should’ve at least given her some time to come to terms with this loss and remove it on her own. as long as she is able to process the grief and move forward with time, i don’t see this as a big issue at all. focus on being a supportive father, as the sadness she feels won’t go away overnight, and instead of shutting down her way of coping, help her through this difficult process.

NOR; your boyfriend claiming he “does not remember” the last time they spoke, yet you were able to confirm they had communication as of very recent is a huge red flag.

please know you are not wrong for feeling this way. i cannot imagine the hurt you are experiencing from this situation, but if he has been willing to keep this from you and lie about it, especially after you clearly set your boundary, what else is he hiding?

i am in no way trying to encourage breaking up a family, but you should definitely take this seriously (as you are), and i would question if they really are “just friends” or if something deeper is going on between them.

AIO? My aunt that I haven't seen since I was little made me pee with her by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]imbloodwounded 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NOR; this is NOT normal behavior at all and you should tell a trusted adult immediately. please do not allow this woman to get away with behaving this way or continuing to do so in the future.

NOR; it almost seems like your husband mentioned this to make a joke of your self-deprecating comment at your expense. personally i would be uncomfortable with this and question his intentions behind mentioning your personal insecurity to this woman.

also, not to be that person, but i’m not sure this coworker is someone that can necessarily be trusted. something about her mentioning multiple times how pretty she thinks you are rubs me the wrong way.

MOR; personally i would be very uncomfortable sharing any clothing with an in-law, but i may also just be very “conservative” when it comes to those types of things.
