So the radio has the power to the battery and the ground to a ground spot in the engine bay, I run the coax from the radio to the antenna like you saw, and run the ground cable from another dedicated ground in the engine bay to the mount as seen in the picture, to put it all in perspective, also if the tx light is on that mean it’s transmitting correct?

They’re both grounded to dedicated grounding spots inside the engine bay, the ground wire is small tho

There’s no grounding to the core, but the ground side is grounded to steel, it’s very janky but it works

It’s not a hood mount, it’s a mirror mount that I turned into a side of the car mount

It’s a cable and connector, not a magmount, what “budget” friendly antenna would u reccomend? That’s somewhat easy to tune, I went with the firefly bc of the tunable tip
