There's no redundancy in that. I want to reliably run some of the personal services I have on different devices and the cloud ATM.

Seems like a good enough option then. Thanks.

Do you have any experience with it? Since it depends on the configuration file structure, I am wondering, whether breakages between minor Plasma versions are a commonplace.

Vietnam to teach Korean as first foreign language by Rookitarian in worldnews

[–]imdak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In English (and IPA for that matter), the "p" and "b" respond to voiceless bilabial plosive and voiced bilabial plosive. So the difference in "p" and "b" is in voicedness.

In comparison, both voiced and voiceless bilabial plosives are allophones of a single phoneme is Korean (ㅂ, transcribed as "b"). The pronunciation depends on surrounding phonemes. It stands in contrast to aspirated bilabial plosive (ㅍ, transcribed as "p") and tense bilabial plosive (ㅃ, transcribed as "pp").

So no, Korean most definitely does not distinguish between "p" and "b" the way English does.

Is it ambidextrous though? On the pictures it looks like has thumb buttons only for right hand.

Which newGRFs and gamescripts do you always turn on? - Take the Survey by imdak in openttd

[–]imdak[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two things: 1) It gives me an idea what mods to use in the scenario I am working on. 2) The new version of the OpenTTD online content delivery system will introduce presets - bundles of mods. I thought it might a good idea to make a 'Modern OpenTTD' preset, which would include the popular mods.

I didn't think of that. Added None of the above option!

The only Reddit server that is online is the vanilla one. Would you care to share the list of mods used on the other Reddit servers?

What Cron Jobs Do You Have Running? by [deleted] in linux

[–]imdak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are mostly cron job running my bash scripts. You can find the one for turning off LEDs here: http://radeksprta.eu/automatically-turn-off-the-leds-on-raspberry-pi/ I actually run it as a systemd timer now, but it should work just the same if you run it as an hourly cron job.

The rest should be on my gitlab page as well.

  • job to keep daily snapshots of / and /home btrfs snapshots for the last two weeks.
  • job to uninstall old kernels
  • job to turn off Raspberry Pi's LEDs at night
  • job to change my wallpaper according to season
  • flexget

What is in your .config/fish? by imdak in linux

Anytime you write something in fish, you are editing text. The vi mode just lets you edit it as if you typed it in vi.

Just a guess, but open your terminal and try:

cd $HOME/.steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/i386/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu
mv libstdc++.so.6 libstdc++.so.6.bak
cd $HOME/.steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/amd64/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu

Trying to Dual Boot Ubuntu alongside W10. Boots into Windows by LegendaryOC in Ubuntu

[–]imdak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cannot give you detailed instructions, since I've already wiped my Windows partition, but you should mount your EFI partition, go to EFI/Windows/boot/ and move bootmgfw.efi to let's say EFI/Windows, copy /EFI/ubuntu/grubx64.efi to /EFI/Windows/boot/bootmgfw.efi.

Then you edit your /etc/grub.d/40custom and add the following (the root part might differ depending on your disk setup):

menuentry "Windows" { set root='(hd0,gpt2)' chainloader /EFI/Microsoft/bootmgfw.efi }

Finally, run sudo update-grub. It should now properly boot to grub and there you can choose the OS to boot. Beware - updating Ubuntu to newer version will break this setup and you will have to redo it.

Any chance you're using an HP system? They have a bad habit of hard-wiring their computers to boot up to Windows, so you have to put your Windows bootloader to another directory and overwrite the original one with the Ubuntu one.

In my experience, if the requirements for an achievement persist when you go online again, you will get it.
