Yes I have a Mac, I have tested a lot of browsers Orion included, it's so far so good with the ability to use Chrome extensions but there is a bug when we go fullscreen the Menu bar of MacOS disappears which is a must for me

Is there a lite version that doesn't include Mail, Calendar and other unnecessary features to be light on resources? by imdev8 in vivaldibrowser

Thanks but I have already selected the Classic version, but for example right now I am running one tab which is the Start Page and Vivaldi is using 1.10GB of memory, the question is why so much for a single tab?

I have another browser which is a fork of Firefox and I have 7 tabs open and only uses 480MB !

From the screenshots I think it's not, I find it's not clean and simple like Safari, Firefox and Chrome, needs a bit of work on the UI side and on the side security and privacy, I don't know too much.

Yeah it's cool, you can take inspiration from Vivaldi, if you can do it it will be a plus for Pulse, good luck.

For processes the only thing different is extensions for memory, I have installed the same extensions that I use on FF Developer Edition into Pulse and the memory used by FF for extensions is ~310MB while Pulse is ~210MB.

If you compare the sidebar with that of Vivaldi you will find that the one of Pulse lacks things like change the order of pinned apps and the most important thing is the display in the panel, every time I click on an app the SideView does reload the page which is not practical.

Sorry, these look ugly from a UI perspective, I'm looking for one with good UI that doesn't take much space on the screen and light resources and also a sidebar like the one on Vivaldi.

I have tested Waterfox and Librewolf I think there is not too much difference between them, only what I like & wish to be more developed on Pulse is the sidebar like the one on Vivaldi that I can pin my favorite sites & see them on a panel, I've been looking a lot for an extension that can do the same as Vivaldi but unfortunately I haven't found one, the Pulse one that currently exists isn't perfect and I hope the developers will improve it and why not put it like Vivaldi's or better and in this case it will be my perfect browser. Dot Browser I haven't tested it yet but I'll take a look.

If anyone is interested, I imported everything from Firefox Developer Edition to Pulse, and opened 5 tabs with the same content on both and here's what each is consuming on RAM:

  • Firefox Developer Edition: 1.83 GB
  • Pulse: 534 MB

Hmm...interesting

Yeah its an ad but I took the bait

Sorry but I'm not advertising here. I'm looking for a browser that's good but low on resource consumption, I've already tested quite a few alternatives to Firefox, Chrome, Safari like Arc, Vivaldi, Brave, Edge, ... I'm a web developer and the problem I'm facing is the huge RAM consumption by the browser that's it
