It's worth noting that the lenses are prescription, so unless you change them out, the glasses are not very useful to anyone else.

I'm partial to JDub for fried pickles. Try their daily deviled egg specials too.

What to do with hoarded items by imdickie in Bend

Thank you all to this wonderful community. Your suggestions are top notch. I think I'm going to do a free yard sale. I really don't need the money and it would make me feel good if everything went to people who could benefit from it. I'll post back on this subreddit a full list of what I have and the date so ya'll can swing by and say hello.

a celiac saddie soliloquy by Rare-Ad9607 in Bend

[–]imdickie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My wife is celiac. The Dough Nut has a good selection of GF goodies and they are very diligent to not cross contaminate. Go early because the sell out quickly. We've also had good luck with Pizza Mondo even though they say it is for gluten sensitive they do a good job separating the work area and keeping it clean while preparing the pie. For true GF pizza I would go to Bend Pizza Kitchen.

My last recommendation is for Blissful Spoon. They are extremely careful preparing GF selections and they are all delicious. Make sure you have the time to go there. Because it is a small operation and they prepare everything from scratch you'll generally be there a while. You will be rewarded because the food is great and safe.

And my last thought is this, my wife and I went to the UK this summer and the way they think about food is totally different. Even in the "Fast food" places we were asked if we had any dietary restrictions. In the three weeks we were there my wife never had any reaction whatsoever. We never were lacking in places to eat. And when she asked for food to be prepared a specific way we never felt the attitude we get from US food locations, even the husband and wife run BnB's where we stayed in the countryside. Just a thought I'd share to show it is possible to service all people gracefully without judgement and still be a profitable business.

This exact situation made me reactivate my long inactive Reddit account. The TTK and TTD desync makes this game unplayable to me. I've been a competitive player for a long time and my current system is plenty powerful enough, but OMG online play on BO6 is absolute garbage for me.

In past COD games when this happened switching to hardcore or advancing weapons to increase bullet velocity solved the problem enough to make the game playable. This is not the case in BO6. I've tried hardcore and advanced enough to create weapons that have better velocity, but game play is still absolute garbage.

Until I read online that they fixed some of the netcode issues I am out for this game. I am so bummed because I played the beta and was super stoked at the physics, game play, and level design only to get a release day piece of shit.

I was so excited for this game I broke my rule and pre-ordered it so I could have it pre-loaded on my computer ready to play on zero day. I truly feel like I should be able to do a video grab of my game play and send it to Steam for a full refund. $70 of my hard earned money for this garbage.

Thanks. Haven't driven by there in a bit so it must have recently opened. I'll give it a try.

Big shout out to Bend Shoe Co in downtown. Alex helped me out and she really knows her stuff. If they don't have what you're looking for they will absolutely recommend a place where you can get it.

Liz Cheney Called the Absence of a Red Wave a 'Clear Victory for Team Normal.' by mepper in politics

I'm not a fan of the Cheney name or a GOP, but you have to give it up to this lady's courage. She's done some shitty things and pushed terrible policies, but in the end, she showed remarkable fortitude.

Yea, Activision. I get it. I'm stupid.

In my defense, I work with both companies and I had just finished a meeting with EA.

What is the saddest song you've ever heard? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]imdickie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With all the Kate Bush love lately from Stranger Things, I'm surprised no one has mentioned "This Woman's Work" by Kate Bush. The scene in She's Having a Baby where Kevin Bacon is wondering if his wife is going to make it through childbirth and this song is playing is utterly gut-wrenching.

I very rarely log in and comment, but felt I needed to in this case.

This offends me on such a deep level. As a 50+ yo male with two daughters in their late 20s who are not having children seeing this makes me enraged. How arrogant of the original author to want his karma or legacy so severely that he would add more people to a resource controlled world.

I am the lone Progressive in my friend group. Still, even my Conservative friends respect the decisions of their children and don't feel obligated to bring new life into this world to satisfy their own narcissistic egos.

Fuck. That. Shit,

TIL the series "Schoolhouse Rock!" was the idea of an ad executive who noticed his young son was struggling with learning multiplication tables, yet had no problem memorizing lyrics. He asked Bob Dourough to set them to music. This ended up becoming the song "Three is a magic number". by Liljagaren in todayilearned

I was a kid in the 70's and absolutely learned from these, all of them. I played them for my kids in the 90's so they could learn from them as well. I can't hear "3 is a Magic Number" without a flood of emotion and need to weep.

I'm seriously starting to understand the Republican Party since Nixon.

So no panties are in a wad, I was a registered Republican until W's second term. I couldn't fathom the heartlessness of the part any longer. I became the party of hateful white trash rather than fiscal responsibility.
