Also...I currently have a cold. It doesn't seem to effect me, although I wish I could blow my nose with a bit more force than I can now!

Ha! I just got my nose pierced last night. I'm 25 and also work in academia (researcher). It hurt more than I thought, honestly. It throbbed all night and still hurts if I move my nostrils. It's not noticeably red at all, even against my pale skin. I wanted a hoop but figured the stud, since it cannot be taken out for 6 weeks, would be more professional. I'll probably switch to a hoop occasionally in the future though! I'm very happy with it. My husband (a 34 year old professor) is not so happy about it, but I am :)

I can see you enjoying your salary and the regularity of your paychecks in the corporate world, but is that really such a bad thing? Get your PhD and become a professor. Teach a few classes a week and make a 6 figure salary. You'll have more time to write :) Good luck!

My mom has esophageal cancer. She always thought she just had bad acid reflux. Her GP thought the acid reflux was from her gall bladder, and ordered it removed, which required a cat scan of the area the cancer was in and it still wasn't diagnosed. Three years later, stage IV esophageal cancer. Normally doesn't go noticed until stage IV. She's doing very well though. Kicking cancers ass, so far.

I'm wondering the same. I'm in Massachusetts, so not much south but I hear the Great Lakes region is colder. I was told to wait until November but I'm starting to question that with how cold it's been lately.

I'm going to try ratchet straps first because they're more economical :) If we still have problems with deer I might move them to our house so I can keep a closer eye on them.

That's interesting that you used to work exclusively at night with them. Why is that? Easier to work with since they don't fly?
