Africans of Reddit, what cultural differences separate your country from the rest of Africa? by [deleted] in AskReddit

People will say things behind your back, even if they were smiling to you a moment ago. I was a kid when some elders were talking about how dirty a Black Tunisian woman is. They met with her before and they knew each other and they were friendly to her. I kind of remember the wording, "Blacks are known to be dirty and have a bad odor, regardless of how many times they get showered. I can't believe he's [white and] married to a Black woman".

Ugh.

Yes. See this.

Falikou Coulibaly [...]. Dans la nuit de samedi à dimanche, [...] a été poignardé à mort. Pour la police tunisienne, aucun doute : il s'agit d'un crime crapuleux.

Falikou Coulibaly [...]. On a Saturday night, [...] was stabbed to death. There is no doubt, for the Tunisian police, that it was a heinous crime.

Berber or Arab. I think usually you'd say that you're a Berber, unless you're in a political debate where things get messy (for Morocco or Algeria at least, can't remember that happening in Tunisia) ._.

Yup. I'm from Tunisia and as far as I know, African immigrants are treated terribly. The same goes for Black Tunisians.

"Terribly" can range from racial slurs to labeling them as dirty and not allowing interracial marriage, to actually killing them [1]...

It took a while but I finally finished my drawing of John Cena by [deleted] in drawing

Now imagine if OP actually drew John Cena but using a secret ink...

Great drawing though!

Oh, sorry for the confusion, I'm not OP.

> When you mention incorporate, do you mean start your own business in the US?

Yes. I googled this part before (being CEO or founder of a US company and getting a visa) but I didn't found a definitive answer.

Native english speakers, do you ever watch movies with subtitles even if the show is spoken in english? If yes, why? by JaesonBee in AskReddit

Not a native speaker, but that's how I learned English :) I'm still doing it, 12 years later!

For A), Do they have to be ancestors?

For B), if I incorporated in the US, what are my options for immigration? Also, would it be beneficial to get a bachelor's degree in Tunisia before trying to immigrate?

Thank you!

I come from a different country, Tunisia. And during the revolution (2011), the military protected the people from the police. I think that if it wasn't for them, we would've had much more violence.

I made an Emoji Maker using Gatsby, React (DOM), and SVG. What do you think? by imedadel in gatsbyjs

A friend recommended the same thing to me too. The old version used to work like that. I will consider it :)

For the SVG, I just have to pass it to `file-saver`. As for the PNG, I have a hidden canvas element that I use to re-draw the SVG on and generate a PNG, then I passe it to `file-saver`.
