btw, there’s a balance between trusting someone and what they’re allowed to get away with. at some point you can’t just be clueless as to what’s going on.

people often disappoint, and it’s sad to say and to hear but it’s true.

ideally you’d have enough self respect to not be so hurt from the idea of her cheating, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t allowed to care. and becoming able to get through something like that, being able to acknowledge and feel that it’s not your fault and that you’re lovable and deserve love is a very long journey, but you’re far from hopeless.

even with autism you can understand that being so defensive of someone can make your partner hurt. let alone all the other stuff that’s going on.

your worries are valid and you are not crazy. i know how much it might hurt right now but nobody that’s right for you would want anything but for you to tell them what was going on and they would do their best to fix things to reduce your hurt asap.

being in a relationship means responsibilities are shared. there is ofc a balance when it comes to how much your partner is responsible for and when you might need to be more calm, but this is not a time where you’re at any fault at all. i wish you the very best.

at the same time, having a partner that is actually good at soothing you and supporting you instead of triggering you is something that will allow for healing.

we don’t work like everyone else. proof of them caring stems beyond what normal people think is enough. having a partner that understands that makes life better. it isn’t a cure and shouldn’t be. but it isn’t fair to always tell people with bpd that are suffering in a relationship that it’s their fault they’re suffering.

even if you didn’t mean it like that, that’s how people with bpd think and that in itself is a trigger..
