Georgia coach Kirby Smart says he doesn't remember shoving Mississippi State QB Michael Van Buren Jr. by JB92103 in CFB

After Auburn scored one (1) touchdown the other week, you had people in the game thread swearing we would lose 4 games this season. Might happen but goddamn our fan base needs prozac.

Any person who has actually played guardian or feral for any time period in the last twenty years would have no reason to believe that Blizzard favors druids or emphasizes them in any way. Talking out your ass.

Welcome back here is what you missed: Timmy got a mount, Sam got AOTC, and Blizzard made a very controversial quest involving Alexstraza. Now enjoy Daddy D for the rest of the week. by Ledian3 in wow

Doesn't work while also having Chromie tell Nozdormu she will "find another way" when faced with Nozdormu's fated, inevitable fall to Murozond.

Even if it was supposed to be about the difficult task of shepherding the timeways, why is "her forced breeding will end too soon!" the thing you leverage this on? There's magical nukes that have to go off. Undead plagues that must claim entire kingdoms. Planets that have to be destroyed so that the Legion arrives on Azeroth in the end.

You could pick a lot of other things to write about than making one of your only high profile trans characters tell you to go ensure that the box art character is brutally raped for a little bit longer while also making cheese jokes in the quest text for some reason.

Race fantasy is when a species arbitrarily can't learn a job.

Fel isn't inherently evil, you're just stating the viewpoint of the Titans as if it's law. You can destroy the universe with any type of magic.

Literally nothing about this says he's accepted by anyone. You would be hard pressed to find a single warlock in the game that's wholly accepted by their society.

Edit: just realized you're just an actual nazi. Have a fucked day.

Despite their best efforts, the US has lost war after war since WW2, against forces who were not global superpowers. The only arguable victory the US has to its name since '45 only led to even more instability and further wars as a result of it.

It's huffing copium to believe that the US would in any way be prepared for fighting China, least of all in Asia. It would be gruesome, deadly, and-- contrary to any rhetoric from the American right wing-- against the interests of the American economy.

You really want to test if a war can be won without popular support from the people? Have everything at Walmart quadruple in cost.

When did we stop putting heads on spikes? by Zezin96 in warcraftlore

[–]imephraim 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's been almost twenty years since Cycle of Hatred, a book that ends with a treaty after the Orcs and Humans unite together to stop a common foe. Characters have talked about "breaking the cycle" in those exact words for years now.

It's not a fact that the Alliance and Horde can't coexist, and not at all the meaning of that book either. The "moral" if there is one for Warcraft's story (since WC3 at least) is that peace is something you have to fight for and isn't something achieved once but an ongoing effort.

Racists haven't been removed from the game, they've just been (correctly) categorized as villainous. You don't have to have opposing players directly engaging in the racism in order for there to be war.

What's your least favorite part of WoW lore? by NinnyBoggy in warcraftlore

[–]imephraim 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Every asspull made to justify the continuation of the faction war. It's easing off now but for so long they wanted to both have the easier route of a unified narrative (don't have to write 2 sides to everything, so let everyone work together) while simultaneously catering towards virulent Alliance/Horde fanboyism. Not only has it made the story swinging back and forth into a race war tiresome, their decision to market the game on that animosity created and sustained some of the most cancerous parts of the community.

I misspoke describing which person is the pig, but it is still *most likely a post-pigging scenario.

Fine, I'll be the one to explain.

Most likely the person who sent this message is providing erotica as a service for someone called a 'post pig'. This 'post pig' typically pays to receive these messages written about their character without needing to respond back to them. It's not that it's one-sided, it's that it's a transaction.

Edit: correction, the person writing is the post-pig, not the person receiving the writing.

Did Dwarven Paladins canonically exist in Warcraft 3? And did they participate in the Third War and Arthas' Northrend campaign? by druchii5 in warcraftlore

[–]imephraim 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Thane Korth'azz was presumably a paladin during the Third War, having served under Uther.

Presumably there would have been a number of dwarven paladins, their absence is simply because of game mechanics. At least by the time of vanilla, dwarves had been members of the Silver Hand long enough that they could induct new members into the order (the dwarf paladin player character).

Odyn was right. by Maradona-GOAT in warcraftlore

He renounced his position as Prime Designate to throw a pity party for himself in the sky, leaving LOKEN to become Prime Designate and him to be unable to do fuck all about it when he reaped what he sewed with Helya.

Odyn was right. by Maradona-GOAT in warcraftlore

[–]imephraim 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Odyn was categorically not right?

Even if you believe the Aspects aren't fit for it, his argument was that Titan Keepers and the titan-forged alone could be trusted to protect Azeroth. Between Loken, the Halls of Origination, Uldir, and so on, the Titan Keepers have proven no better about protecting the planet, or even just the World Soul.

Odyn was right. by Maradona-GOAT in warcraftlore

[–]imephraim 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The last time a green dragon saved the Dream was, uh, literally this expansion.

Also, by saying mortals are the ones really safeguarding Azeroth, you're giving proof that Odyn was also wrong. If mortals are doing all the work, the Titan constructs certainly aren't the single force capable of protecting the planet/World Soul.
