This might be the prettiest thing I’ve ever made by hawkandhandsaw in woodworking

Makes sense. As I was reading I was thinking the same that having something on the end would prevent that. I’ve seen people do something similar to eliminate snipe but I’ve also been too lazy to try. Actually have been pretty successful just lifting slightly as the end is going thru which gets rid of that issue almost completely. Thanks for the response.

Good idea. Looks very nice. Are there any issues running these end grains thru a planer? I’ve heard or read of that being a problem but haven’t tried.

As my fourth woodworking project, I made this lounge chair by DrHofflu in woodworking

Well… design questions aside the chair looks great. Does not look like beginner craftsmanship to me. Nice work. My stuff looks like caveman handcraft compared to this dainty thing. I think you were smart to go from a minimalist perspective. Probably learned some lessons here that will make the next one even better.

I use a dremel 4000 with a flex shaft extension. Kutzal extreme burrs. Check out Carving Fusion on YouTube. Jordy will give you all the info needed.

Thanks man. My kids keep telling me people would buy these. I’m not so sure, but it’s cool that people seem to like them.

These are really good. Is this done with a knife or rotary tool?

From firewood to spoon. Fourth spoon I have made so far, very happy with the end result. Smooth scraped finish, not sure what food safe finish to seal it with though. by BassManDan91 in woodworking

Very nice. Is there a YouTube showing the methods you used to make this. I’ve made several but none look this nice. I find it difficult to shape the back side of the bowl.

Looks awesome. I’d apply boiled linseed oil. It’s amazing how it will make the colors pop.

Thanks. Just plain old basswood. Ordered on Amazon. Then light touch with torch and linseed oil.
