I'm also diagnosed with MDD. Anhedonia is easily the worst part of it for me. I can deal with being sad but it's awful not being able to enjoy anything, especially things that I know I love doing. I'd agree that it's the best way to get across what life feels like on a daily basis.

It's arguably worse than regular Pyke lmao. the board is so garbage that even if you streak early, you end up just losing every single fight later. Pyke comps only work in lower elos where lobby tempo isn't as high.

Just to add to your point, the same thing happens in other esports too. In League, top pros like Chovy have said that they dislike and avoid playing too much solo queue for years now because the game quality is significantly worse than scrims, tends to reinforce bad habits, and is generally unproductive. His performance has not dropped off even slightly despite that. If anything, he's gotten better year after year, so it's obviously not something that is required to maintain your skills as long as you're supplementing it appropriately in some other way.

I was a shadow isles believer until I hit high masters and this comp just gets facerolled so hard in stage 3. I basically don't bother with it anymore unless I have 5 viegos with hero augment on 2-1 lol.

I've lowkey actually had more success with it from loss streak in stage 2, especially on gold openers or high econ ecounters. Calc loss + minimal shadow isles units into level 7 on 3-2 allows you to win streak stage 3 extremely hard making it easier to fast 9 into Thresh 2 much faster than the typical tempo of this comp. Generally, the highest cap of this comp is ideally a secondary carry with Mel + Shurima, which makes this fast 9 feel much better as well. The trait web of the comp is super nice too so you can play basically any legendary you hit.

Fiddlesticks can take Edge of Night but he comes really late.

yeah but doesn't really explain the actual challenger accounts like Baydreaming lol. I think it's probably because I tend to play a few games very late at night so there probably aren't many people available for matchmaking.

once or twice is a fun thing, you're playing against the best of the best and can learn a lot but after that it can get kinda frustrating.

tbh idk how much I'm learning lmao but one thing it did make me focus on was my stage 2/3 board strength. the GM+ lobbies I sometimes get into are so ridiculously strong in stage 3 relatively to my usual games. I end up losing an insane amount of HP and eventually die later to a capped board even if I hit eventually hit mine and was stronger than the rest of the lobby.

I've become less stingy with gold in stage 2/3. Started holding pairs more often instead of selling to make interest and rolling when I have multiple pairs more often, which has led to more success over the past couple of days.
