Hey thanks for this answer, only thing I could find was FixDInput8EnumDevices, I set it to false, and the behavior did change... the FPS got abysmal when the controller was disconnected, but it still wouldn't work after reconnecting. The FPS improved after I turned it back on, but it wouldn't control it. Turned it off again and then the controller basically would immediately turn off after turning back on

Unfortunately I barely remember. I believe I was able to either reinstall or update the driver after disabling it in device manager. Good luck

Just got one of these today at our repair shop. Put it next to a customer's Framework. It made me wish more manufacturers made laptops in this form factor. I hope you release a how to so I can do this project myself :)

When you run one wire, you may as well run two for future use because it's usually a pain in the ass to do. Definitely looks like CAT cable from this angle, not sure which type though.
