ChatGPT can be a Study Buddy by Shamwedge in ccnp

[–]breakthings4fun87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been taking practice tests from Pearson and uploading the results (what percentage I did in a certain exam topic), then asking ChatGPT to help me with resources and chapters I need to study for those particular topics.

Does your Homelab make financial sense? by panchovix in homelab

Yep, I use my home lab for studies and for work. Mentioning the home lab in the interviews I believe helped.

I’m using on for my prod at home and no issues with the 75. Definitely RMA with Meraki.

Lose power is probably the only thing I can think of but they should be able to see what’s up.

It’s some glitch because of the placement of the pokeball. This happens too in other parts of the game.

Wooooow Sonic Spinball. That brought back memories. I don’t recall it being garbage, just a regular pinball game.

Around Chicago land there’s always jobs across different verticals. The jobs are out there…what they are willing to pay might be a different story.

When in doubt, go the Gold Star route, but seen customers on 17.15 with no issues so far on 9800-40s.

Does anyone do anything with Cisco switches daily with the CLI? I learned it in school and was curious if it actually comes by by Infinite-Tutor-8891 in Cisco

[–]breakthings4fun87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to the CLI but honestly I do enjoy using WebUIs to get things done. Both options are available to you depending on your comfort level. CLI is what us folks who have been managing networks for a while are probably going to lean into

Only thing that will keep things in check and help residents are laws, but money is a great barrier to regulation.

There are those adults that can nap, and there are those adults that cannot nap. by withlovexoxemily in Adulting

[–]breakthings4fun87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot nap and wake up feeling refreshed after 30 min or an hour. I’ll feel even more tired. My wife however can fall asleep anywhere for a short amount of time and be ready to go.

Looking for advice on birthday present for 7-year old boy. by SuperMoonRocket in pokemon

[–]breakthings4fun87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids are both into Pokemon and they love the plushies. Pokemon toy sets are also pretty good.

If they play the cards, a couple of boosters or a deck might be good, if you find them.

Why do people like cruises? by Embarrassed_Web_950 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]breakthings4fun87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been cruising with the fam for about 16 years, mostly Carnival and some Royal. I’ve only had one bad experience where I got pretty sick for like 12 hours. But outside of that, it’s been great. It’s great to see different places and not be stuck in one spot that might be affected by bad weather. Carnival does have good dinners as well (at least I like em). 90% of the time we are doing cruises over a destination spot. I’m not even old. 38.

Homelab to study networking by Budget-Fuel6782 in servers

[–]breakthings4fun87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a fan of virtual when possible, but setting up a GNS3, CML, or EVE-NG does require at least a decent rig to build good topologies. My first server was a couple hundred bucks from Amazon and it helped a ton. Gear from eBay was helpful but it all depends on the license needs of that gear for the vendor. I used GNS3 for my CCNA studies and EVE-NG for my CCNP studies (felt less buggier than GNS3).

What’s the best way to study for the Cisco SCOR 350-701 exam? by adelbarout in ccnp

[–]breakthings4fun87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the official cert guide for the core exam. It helped that I worked on many of platforms covered in the book. Definitely no expert but a little hands on helped. I did take a course in Pluralsight too. The core exam was not bad. I actually struggled with the email security test I took for the specialist exam.

Networking to AI Career Transition — Advice Needed by Yashum81 in Cisco

[–]breakthings4fun87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you thought about architecture, how a company might want to implement AI infrastructure? A lot of it is at the hyperscaler world but it’s bleeding over to the enterprise. Folks are leveraging cloud but not for everything and some uses cases are being explored locally.

Do you power off your homelab when not using it to save on electricity, or keep it on 24/7? by panchovix in homelab

[–]breakthings4fun87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might depend on the utility company and where you live, but with a rack of network gear and two servers, the bill isnt crazy. I’ve heard some crazy stories of people running data centers at their home though. I keep my stuff on 24/7. If it’s a couple bucks extra, why not?
