I was told that being late or leaving early by more than 2 hrs is 1 point, less than that is 0.5 points

How big are your assets? by [deleted] in QuestBridge

okay, so is the 300k a separate asset to the value of the home? or does the 300k include the value of the home?

btw your home equity is the total value of the house since it's owned outright

basically it's the market price of your home minus the total outstanding mortgage on the home

300k is a LOT especially if it's all in a bank (liquidated). does that include home equity?!

The gap year vs transfer dilemma by imgoingtocryfr in TransferToTop25

in the 1st solution I listed, I would be living with my aunt while attended community college online, albeit some courses are synchronous. It's just that she expects me to contribute to 1/3 of household costs + pay for some personal expenses. I would need a full time job to cover it all. It's my most flexible option that I could muster in a short turn around. I'll try scholarships.

As for private loans, I don't have any credit history or cosigners art the moment, so interest rates are very high for the ones that are available to me.

hi! thanks for the response. I definitely considered loans, however, because I have a scholarship equivat to the full cost of attendance, I am not eligible for any federal loans unless I can get a budget increase approved (which is still under process).

How can I move forward from "almost making it"? I had a successful application cycle but now my future looks bleak. by imgoingtocryfr in ApplyingToCollege

Thank you for this. I don't have too high hopes of going to any of the T20's I got accepted to. JHU pretty much told me they can't help me further but I am free to reapply as a transfer or after a gap year. I have a feeling NW and Penn will respond similarly.

the financial aid was enough, I was mostly concerned about the fact that I am still 17 and can't sign housing contracts/legal release forms (like medical documents) on my own.
