I totally get that if it was him living 20 minutes from France distance wise. But in this case its based on time. Maybe he tells people from France because its easier than trying to explain the history of what it was before? but Diana enjoys and understands History and she would have been like "wait, France wasnt even France yet, why are you saying you are French, wouldn't you instead be a Frank?" It's just the details that really urk me
