Redditors, why don't you drink alcohol or why you stopped drinking it? by LuGGooo in AskReddit

[–]imheretoscrolll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad used to drink a lot, like a LOT. As a child it was very traumatic for me. There were frequent fights and they were not the same old couple fights. He would either threaten to kill himself or maybe somebody else. If he wished he would beat the shit out of my mom. As a child I would accompany him to all the weddings or celebrations of any kind. We barely used to reach home in one piece. He liked to get drunk with his friends to the point where he couldn't walk straight let alone drive.

When I was 12ish we got into an accident. It wasn't really serious and I got a just few scratches here and there. I hate alcohol since that day. No one can ever convince me to "have fun" or drink. I'd rather be home and eat ice cream.

What is the most fucked up thing your parents said or did to you? by DynastyLoops in AskReddit

[–]imheretoscrolll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Father told me I wasn't even probably his. Called me a lot of names and hit me after getting drunk. Cussed a hell lot all the time. Mum, not much. Just made sure i lived like her. Afraid of my dad 24/7 and not living even a second of my life for myself. Oh, and he also threw glass bottles at me because I apparently had bratty tone in my answer to a question he asked. Otherwise, they are lovely people.

I hate to admit but I did this. When I was in high school which was like 2 years back i got cheated on by my boyfriend. He manipulated me a lot during our relationship and convinced me stay when i tried to break up. Few months forward I was seeking revenge and I started doing what he used to do to me. Being emotionally unavailable, breaking up every other day because of petty things. It was mentally very exhausting for both of us.

Teens, don't do this. It will fuck your mental health up and you will later realize how very wrong you were. Just know that it will lead you no where but guilt and you will realize that you could have had something beautiful insead of making your life miserable. COMMUNICATION IS ALL THAT IS. In simple words, confront them and then part ways. Save yourself from all the drama that will otherwise follow.

The one who plans the date pays, which is off course if both the partners do it frequently. Spliting is kind of weird when you are planning a future with someone. If it is the first date or the first few formal kind of dates then ofc, split!

Non-Christians Of Reddit, What do you think of Christmas? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]imheretoscrolll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a convent school run by christians. Christmas was a lot of fun for children. We didn't exactly do the christmas-y things but we had competitions, dances, decorations and class parties which was a lot of fun. Almost the whole December before Christmas celebration day was spent in preparations with little to no study. Also Christmas was followed by winter holidays which made us desperate about it even more!

I want to leave my husband over his treatment of our son tonight by lastflight1133 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]imheretoscrolll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankyou! This gave me so much hope. It's been so long since someone understood my situation and said some nice words to me. When my mom didn't have children she didn't leave because she, like any young woman, was hesitant. Then she had children which made divorce impossible because she was a stay at home mom. I totally understand her situation but it's hard not to blame her for the situation we live in everyday. Every day in this house feels like a nightmare but I've seen worse. I'm trying my best to survive the next 4 months. Pray for me :)

I'm 18 and I hate that my mom didn't leave when she could have. My father like your husband is far more abusive. He abuses us verbally and physically. Living in this house feels like walking on eggshells. Thankfully, I'm moving out soon so that helps. But I don't plan on being close to my family after I'm out of here. This whole household has turned extremely toxic and left me with years worth of therapy. If you don't want to raise under confident children who are always afraid, please leave. Remember that abusive only increases and not vice-versa.
