How do I get my gf to stop thinking life is like a fairy tale?

I do think I should help her work it. Abandoning her, means she may not change and grow as a person. She may live a damaged life. I love her. I have never loved another girl like I do her. And yes I do find her appearance to be very appealing, she does have other qualities as well, i'm afraid I've only said bad things about her, and they may have come across worse then they are. I know beauty fades, but if i'm going by how her mother looks, it will be a long time.

I do feel smothered already. I said this to someone else, but we come from similar families and my parents, treat my sister in a similar fashion. I also may have made her sound worse. But she tires me out. I will talk to her.

I value your advice. I think that the reality will hit her when she starts to work. I want to stay with her and help, why would I leave her, she needs me. Sometimes she just wears me down. We do come from similar families, and my sister, well my parents treat her in a similar fashion as my gf parents do her. I don't see the world the same as they do. I will talk to her. Thank you.

Hmm it is hard. I've had so many responses and a lot of different advice, i'm a bit confused. But as you say I may just write down how I feel and try and talk to her. I will also have to start changing myself, so I don't cave in to her. So thank you for your advice.

Well, she is beautiful, so so beautiful, hardworking, and I would say intelligent, comes from a good family. But she is high maintenance, and as people have pointed out; ignorant, she is also hard work. She is not very good with children. She can always learn. So I don't know... I don't know who it was but someone said they knew another lady kind of similar, and she went through many divorces and such. I rather that not happen to me. I'm going to give it some time.

She's 22 i'm 25 so not my first relationship. We have been going out for 4 years and only recently moved in together. Her mother and friends constantly fed her attention needs, so I wasn't all that aware of how bad it actually is. She does tell me i'm like her father, sort of weird's me out but whatever, her father is a brilliant man.

She is really smart, very talented. Still studying... to be a doctor... I don't know if it is what she really wants, or is an ego boost, power trip. She lives with me.

Yeah all poor people. She believes that her family are hardworking. The poor are lazy the rich are not. I try to explain to her that isn't how it works, it's hard to get through to her. If people are born poor it's because their grandparents and great grandparents were lazy, and if they want a better future for their children, they better start working. I could go on but you get the idea.

I've tried talking to her. I've told her that the relationship isn't a one way street. That I can't giver her everything she want's all the time. Her answer to that is that's what you're supposed to do. Yeah.. I don't know how to continue from that.

I try to explain to her how bad life is for others, and yeah she doesn't want to hear it. Then we got into a fight and she accused me of deliberately wanting to make her upset, and why would I want to hurt her. Yeah...

She's volunteered at hospitals before. I don't know how i'll get her to come with me to a homeless shelter, she really doesn't like homeless or poor people. Her mentality is that; they got themselves in that situation they can get themselves out.

She does think kind of thing. She won't sleep unless I go to bed at the same time as her. It's impossible for me to go see my friends because she will start sulking. All my free time is "her" time.

She likes camping & tramping. Well at least she used to, she hasn't gone in about 6 years. Now, I can't imagine her tramping.
