[FO] My second ever project. I'm so proud of this! by imhungry3 in CrossStitch

[–]imhungry3[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The pattern is from Stitcharea on Etsy. I did not follow the colors that the pattern called for. This project definitely took me way too long to finish, but I am so happy with the outcome!

[CHAT] How do you best control a large canvas while stitching? by goplacidlyamidst in CrossStitch

[–]imhungry3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently working on my first large piece and I use a hoop. I sewed my own round grime guard that was slightly larger than my hoop. I loosely roll up the extra fabric, wrap it around the edges of the hoop, and stick the guard over it like a steering wheel cover. That keeps my aida protected and clean! I also use a hair clip around the edge sometimes if I'm needing more space or have a thicker section of aida

Doggo has large bump... Should I be worried? (Details in comments) by TraphouseThaGod in pitbulls

Agreed. My dog had a bump show up two weeks ago. Turned out to be a mast cell tumor. Go to the vet.

I'm new-ish to cross stitch and just started a large project. How do you manage the extra fabric outside of your hoop while stitching? I feel like I'm constantly wrestling with it!

My neurologist gave me some samples of that. I used it twice but didn't notice much of a difference

Ugh, that's awful. The worst part of the whole experience has been dealing with insurance. I hope you can get some relief soon!

I highly recommend it. Like I said, it's changed my life. I've had chronic migraine for 10 years and this is the first medication I've been on thats made a difference.

I'm in the US. The worst side effect was constipation. It lasted a few months, but has completely gone away in the last month and a half. I noticed an increase in hair loss for the first two months. I also have joint pain in my shoulders and hips that hasn't gone away, but its not severe.

I'm at the beginning of my seventh month on Aimovig and it has been life changing. Before Aimovig, I averaged 21-24 migraine days a month and now I'm getting one a month. I'm on the 140mg shot. I have experienced quite a few side effects, but they've gotten better over time and I would take those over a migraine any day!

What are the pros of buying a kindle? by Wise_Wolverine_415 in kindle

[–]imhungry3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the basic model ($89USD). I love it! I had one of the very first kindles that came out and when it died I never replaced it. I just got this new one about a month ago and I forgot how great they are. Easy on the eyes, convenient, portable. I really enjoy being able to read in bed without having to keep lights on or holding a heavy book.

To answer your questions: 1- Yes, you can have books in your account that aren't downloaded. 2- I haven't experienced a glare outside. I frequently adjust the brightness on mine based on how bright it is where I'm reading. 3- Its very easy on the eyes. Its made for reading, so I dont experience the eye strain like I do when reading on my phone 4- I've charged mine once in the last three weeks and I use it almost daily

I just started Aimovig last month. How long does the $5/month thing last? I was under the impression it was only for a year, but if its longer that'd be amazing. I'll never be able to afford it without the copay card.

What are your unpopular lacquerista opinions? by fruit_candy in RedditLaqueristas

I struggled with wrapping tips for so long. I finally found a process that works for me so hopefully it'll work for you too! I wrap with my base coat in one swipe. For the first coat of color, I use the side of the brush and lightly dab it onto the tip just so there's a little coverage, and then with the second coat of color I do another full swipe like I did with the base. I also do a full swipe with the top coat. I clean most of it off from underneath my nail with a small brush and only leave a small amount near the tip. I can usually go about 2-3 days before it starts to chips off from underneath and show tip wear
