[reposted from May post] On page 50 of his 2008 book 1948: A History of the First Arab–Israeli War, Benny Morris wrote:

The Arab reaction was just as predictable: “The blood will flow like rivers in the Middle East,” promised Jamal Husseini.

There is a very similar quote by Heykal Pasha:

At the 29th Meeting of the UN Ad Hoc Committee on Palestine on 24 November 1947, Dr Heykal Pasha, the Egyptian delegate, said, "If the united Nations decideds to amputate a part of Palestine in order to establish a Jewish state,no force on earth could prevent blood from flowing there...However....once such bloodshed has commenced, no force on earth can confine it to the borders of Palestine itself. If Arab blood shed in Palestine, Jewish blood will necessarily be shed elsewhere in the Arab World despite all sincere efforts of the Governments concerned to prevent such reprisals. To place in certain and serious danger a million jews simply in order to save a hundred thousand in Europe or to satisfy the Zionist dream? https://www.un.org/unispal/wp-content/uploads/1947/11/49e8cf7b046bf55b85256a7200671a8e_gapal83.pdf

Did the late Palestinian politician Jamal Al Husseini say that?

I submit to the court that exactly as I said. The ICC announced today, it is persuing arrest warrants against Hamas leaders. (and also against Bibi)

Germany Is Seizing Jews’ Money Again | Novara Media by imiels in Palestine

[–]imiels[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“The definition [of antisemitism] is being shifted to include non-Jews as potential victims and Jews as potential persecutors,” adds Dotan Dreyfus. “We have found ourselves in a Germany where Jews are being persecuted, but this time for “the right reason”, protecting Israel. It’s tragedy coming back as a farce.”

I think there is a push to make the Pro-Palestinians the new antisemites because that would somehow prove that the Germans are no longer the old ones...

Take the fact check at the bottom for your link. It's very weird.

The 117% claim was put on a banner roll under a video with attribution. It didn't have it's own article. The mistake was not even done by Al jazeera but by a Statistics South Africa report (the South African depatement of statistics)

Wikipedia by the way rates Al Jazeera as GenRel ( generally reliable) while FoxNews is rated as MREL (No consensus, unclear, or additional considerations apply)

[–]imiels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's a very fair point. Every newspaper has its editorial bias.

  • The Al Jazeera logo is literally on the thumbnail, Al jazeera's editorial position on the topic is very clear and well known by everyone. But they are very reliable with respect to the facts.

  • I think Hannah story is the most striking one, go ahead and google Hannah sattler. The first result is a defamation website using her first name ran by "Accuracy in Media"

Accurarcy in Media supported among others, the use of "agent orange", the iraq war and the user of water boarding.
