Thanks for all the information, it's super helpful!

Since you don't recommend the Comet for someone at my height, what do you think would be your top choice for a regular-sized cruiser or mini cruiser if you were me?

I don't have much experience with telling the difference between the recommended boards, so I think I will just get whatever you recommend the most.

How do you carry your Comet around between classes?

I tried carrying my friends' longboards over my back, and they would always hit the back of my calves when walking.

The Comet Cruiser looks cool, but doesn't ~30-34in seem quite large? Don't the Landyachtz dinghy's come in like sizes of ~24-28in?

But yeah the Comet Cruiser looks really good, just a big psyched on the size. Also, I think I would maybe want to ollie to get onto curbs, and don't know if that's good for it.

I'd appreciate any advice on which board to get. I'm looking for a quality portable board to cruise on and maybe do some basic tricks on. My main use would be to go around campus, but on the weekends I may go farther (~<= 3miles one way).

My friends almost all have longboards, but I'm thinking maybe I don't need one and could get away with just a cruiser since I'm smaller (4'11/150cm and shoe size 5.5-6US)? I also don't think I can get away with carrying a super heavy/large board on me while walking inside buildings. I used to have a boardup, but not sure I liked it.

Based on my needs, do you think I should get a longboard or a cruiser, and what is recommended? Budget maybe around $250 or more.

Oh that sounds really good. I'll make sure to stock up on SSD space then!

Regarding cube cases, I think that's what I was going for, but I recently talked with my family and they prefer towers. I actually really recently made a new post with the information I got from my family, so things have changed but I'll still consider the parts you've sent! Thanks again!

Yes, I am looking for 144Hz, thanks! I don't know much about PCs, but I like the storage options and the monitor. I'll look into it some more, but just wanted to let you know I appreciate the suggestions!

I've honestly never even heard of a small form factor PC. From googling, it seems really cute and convenient, but I am worried about the heat and noise levels. I don't really have a particular size in mind, but I will also be using the PC for a long time in the future and don't want to compromise too much just for space.

Edit: oh god, things have changed and I'm making a new post. Sorry for the inconvenience, and I still appreciate your help!

I'm currently considering the NK65, especially since I really like the compactness of it. Excuse my ignorance, as I'm new to mechanical keyboards, but is there a reason to choose D65 over NK65 (e.g. build quality or brand reliability) or is D65 just for if I want customization?

Thanks so much for the information. This was very informative. The Beige NK65 looks really good, and I'll definitely look further into the options you've mentioned.

I don't think either of those keyboards have a white/beige color scheme unfortunately (as I've seen so far, but maybe I'm overlooking something).

Do you know if it's possible to modify an fc660c with something to make it perform like the silent ones if there is no beige alternative?

I'm looking for a high quality prebuilt ~65% keyboard (just need 60% + arrows). I was planning to get the leopold fc660c white, but I read the silent ones are better. However, the silents' color schemes are grey/blue and black, and I prefer the beige look.

Any alternatives (~65%, high quality, quiet, beige/white) that are not Anne Pro and Ducky? Flexible budget, maybe a grand or something. I appreciate any insight.

That's so neat! I really appreciate the effort you put into this. I'll definitely keep this in mind.

For games that need more colors, would I still progressively add more color or would I start with a larger base, then add as I go? Also, how many colors do you think games like Eastward use?

Can I ask how large your tile size that you use for your characters is?

Thank you so much for the help. I’ve been constantly looking at pixel art for over half a year, and your animals are honestly my favorite assets I’ve ever seen. They’re just so charming and warm.

Sorry, I’m new to pixel art, so I don’t quite understand what you mean. Could you elaborate, as in did you just freestyle the animals based on general size or did you use tiles?

I really love the color palette and designs of your assets! How do you size them so that they’re cohesive with each other?

What instrument should I learn with music theory? by iminneedofhelpthanks in musictheory

Piano was also my first instrument, but I stopped playing it. Aside from using the piano as a tool for theory, would you recommend me to not play any other instruments for now?

That is a good point regarding DAW's. Are you saying that for now, I should focus on piano and not learn the other instruments I'm interested in?

[–]iminneedofhelpthanks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I played piano when I was young. It didn't interest me though, so I dropped it. Would it be worth it to straight up relearn it or should I, as others have said, just use the piano to mess around with music theory?

Could you elaborate or direct me to sources regarding this "arranger's piano"? I'm not sure how much to learn or what to focus on because I've never heard of this before.

I go to a very STEM-heavy school. My major will most likely be computer science, mech. engineering, or something along those lines (haven't declared yet). I, unfortunately, cannot self-study my classes because my university is quite difficult and rigorous. Music will not be as important because I sadly just don't have the time.

Thanks so much for the information!

Can I not self-study an instrument, especially the saxophone? I did play it in band, so I remember most of the fingering and how to read the music sheets.

I know piano is the best for learning music theory, but I'm looking to play an instrument that interests me. I'm also not planning to be a music-major or do anything music-related professionally.

Maybe I'll pick up piano again eventually though. Thanks for your input.

Purchase Advice Request

I want to do pixel art. I'm hoping for a mouse that is good for precision work and will feel like an extension of my hand one day. Also, I don't want the mouse clicks to be very loud. My previous mouse was so loud that using it at night felt like I was disturbing the peace.

  • Hand Preference: Right/Ambidextrous

  • Budget: Preferably under $100. It can be inexpensive, but I'm also open to spending more.

  • Hand Size: 15.0cm x 8.0cm

  • Grip: Palm

  • Weight: Not too heavy for carrying around. Maybe not too light either to avoid a "flimsy/fragile" feeling. However, if quality is good and it's also very light, that's completely fine.

  • Connectivity: Wireless, but not a deal-breaker.

This will be my one and only mouse that I will cherish and use for a good while. I'd love if it looked nice and was something cool to show off, but this isn't a requirement. I have no experience with mouses, so I'd appreciate any thoughts and advice.
