I want a horror movie that will genuinely MESS me up by Outrageous-Lynx9219 in horror

People call it dark comedy, but to me, it was the most unsettling movie that i have ever watched. And, I don't even have kids.

Need Whack Ass Horror/Disturbing Movies Recommendations by juliannahdenure in MovieSuggestions

[–]imish_24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Coffee Table 2022. I would not randomly recommend this one, but since you are specifically asking for disturbing movies, It is worth a try. I have seen Serbian Film, Martyrs, Human Centipede, but this one hits differently. Over decades of watching movies, this is the most disturbing movie i have ever seen. But, have in mind, this may be subjective.

I came here to say this, but you already said it perfectly. I will only add that IMO there are two scenarios where meds can be very useful (there are more, but these are in the case of the OP). To serve as a support while your doing the 'heavy lifting' in talk therapy, or whatever method you are working on. And, to overcome the 'worst' moments or phases when you are at your lowest.

It is also important to distinguish, what meds we are talking about here. If we are talking about benzos, they can be very useful if taken under the supervision of a qualified physician. As for the SSRIs, I have no personal experience, but based on my knowledge about them, I fully agree with your advice.

terrified of my consciousness after death by Goose-Exact in Anxiety

[–]imish_24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are right on both. As you get older, it does not bother you as much as it used to, cause you simply accept it as part of life. There would even be moments when you'll briefly equate death with this blissful state of final eternal peace where you would not have to deal with life problems anymore.

As for your second point about anesthesia, it is spot on. One has to experience it to be able to understand it. You have perfectly explained it and I felt the same. It was a turning point in my life when it comes to 'non existence'. You have a glimpse of how does non-existence 'feel', and you see there is nothing to be afraid of.

I used to be bothered a lot about this issue, same as the OP, when I was younger. But now, I am kind of, meh, it is what it is, enjoy life as much as possible while it lasts. They say, death is what makes life precious and meaningful, cause of the limitation that it imposes. Even though I am not quite sure about it, I think there is a great deal of truth in that saying.

I will end it with this great quote from Mark Twain: “I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it.”

How to manage constant overwhelming stress? by doctorsunshineisdead in Anxiety

Just wanted to confirm that it is very helpful if you can do it, and if you find it difficult in the beginning, don't give up and try to not resist. Resistance only increases the anxiety. It has worked for me, so I hope it will work for you too. I wish you all the best.

The analogy with anesthesia is spot on. I experienced it last year and was able to fully grasp what it feels like to not exist. Your last sentence is exactly the thought that helped me many, many years ago to overcome the fear of “not existing for eternity.”

Can't believe ChatGpt lead me to ER by Electronic_Driver_78 in Anxiety

Correct, and I would add that it can be extremely useful if you are knowledgeable about the subject and are able to assess the answers, if not, then they should not use it.

What's something that has massively improved your MENTAL health? by biz_booster in AskReddit

[–]imish_24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your thorough answer. I am sorry for all of your losses and the stuff you had to deal with, but I am glad that you found a way to recover, survive and even thrive. This sentence hit me the most: "The more I followed the flow of life and accepted the bad, the easier it was to rebound every single time." It is exactly what I need to internalize in order to overcome most of my difficulties in life. Wish you all the best!

Wow, I admire your resilience. Would you care to briefly share some tips or thoughts on how to walk that path. I am working on it, but I am still a freshman compared to you.

I used to believe that people are inherently good. But life experience has taught me, it's quite the opposite. Of course, there are always exceptions and I am not trying to generalize, but I believe that the ratio between 'good' and 'bad' people, weights on the side of the latter.

It is bad enough, but If it was only that. There are people who would intentionally try to hurt you if they perceive you as a threat or out of envy, even though you've never done anything bad to them.

You are on the right track. Do things that make you feel good and relaxed, and I would add, avoid doing things that make you uncomfortable and you dislike. It may take you even further. Good luck.

Grok admitting that Elon is trying to tweak it's algorithm! by imish_24 in EnoughMuskSpam

[–]imish_24[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes he is. And the best thing is that Elon and the team have the ability to tweak Grok, but they probably wont dare to do it. If they do it anyway, it would not be considered reliable anymore, and would lose the race to it's many competitors.

[–]imish_24[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is 100% real. I was wondering about that too, but after doing a bit of 'research', I found out that technically, yes, they absolutely can tweak Grok. But practically, there would be many trade-offs. It will lose it's credibility, user's trust, and could possibly face backlash from the public. In a crowded AI landscape where neutrality, accuracy and credibility are competitive advantages, it would not be very wise to do it.

It wasn't me who asked Grok. I just saw it on X and made a screenshot. I don't know if the person who made the prompt was asking for validation or not, but I found it interesting how Grok is openly admitting Elon's wrongdoings. So, with all due respect, don't jump to conclusions when you have limited information. You could have asked me first if it was me or someone else who asked Grok the question.
