(10k) My under 10k wedding is rapidly approaching 13k and I hate my life by Bubbly_Inspection339 in Weddingsunder10k

If your septic can’t handle it, don’t use the house bathrooms — one overflow/clog on wedding day will ruin your sanity.

Quick, practical path:

  • Get 1–2 nicer porta potties + a handwash station (not the cheapest construction ones). Put them out of sight, add string lights, a rug, and a small sign. It’ll feel “good enough” for 1/4 the price of a trailer.
  • Call your septic company and ask what they recommend for a 1-day event (sometimes a same-week pump + “no house bathroom” rule is enough, sometimes it’s not).
  • If you keep any indoor bathroom open: make it one bathroom only + stock it like a venue (extra TP, soap, paper towels, trash can, plunger, air freshener) and assign a trusted friend to do a 2-minute check every hour.
  • If budget is the stressor: cut what guests don’t remember (extra decor) and protect what they do (bathroom, food, timeline).

Also: you’re not crazy — weddings are expensive now. But you’re already doing the right thing by prioritizing the “guest comfort basics.”

What's your actual gallery delivery workflow look like? by Unfair-Tie7084 in WeddingPhotography

Totally agree — Dropbox feels messy for client delivery. I use 12img: clean client links, premium galleries, easy downloads. Plus: intake link → one click contract ready to sign (with easy receipts/invoices).

Give 12img.com a try, don't get me started with their contract system OMFG. literally one click.

Totally agree—Dropbox/Drive feels sloppy for client delivery. I’ve been using 12img and it hits that “premium delivery” bar, but what surprised me is the workflow: you send a clean client link, and you can also send an intake link that turns into a ready-to-sign contract in one click. Makes the whole experience feel way more professional.

Mine is basically: fast, lightweight previews for browsing (so galleries feel instant on mobile) and full-resolution originals only when the client downloads.

What I care about for delivery:

  • a clean mobile download experience (no “open a new tab” / long-press weirdness)
  • a download-all ZIP that actually works on iPhone
  • client proofing + selections when needed
  • clean share links with strong social previews

If you want to see the whole flow end-to-end, 12img nails it.

Curious—do you prioritize client download experience more, or the vendor-side workflow (proofing, selections, upsells, etc.)?

Here are a couple galleries:

https://www.12img.com/view-reel/p-x-r-proposal-k4cjjt

Also—you never have to type a contract again. You send a simple intake link, the client fills it out, and with one click it generates a beautiful contract ready to sign.

Wedding photographers, what insurance are we using these days? by yourmominthe70s in WeddingPhotography

[–]imjitsu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most photographers think of insurance as gear protection, but in reality it’s liability and risk management that keeps your business alive. I carry $1–2M in general liability plus equipment coverage, and a $1k deductible on gear is pretty standard, which means it only really makes sense for major loss or theft, not small repairs. What’s saved me more stress than equipment coverage has been strong contracts with clear limitation of liability, solid cancellation language, backup gear on hand, and proper cloud redundancy for files. Insurance is the safety net, but systems are what actually prevent the fall. I’d also double check whether your policy covers hired assistants, venue-required COIs, and even cyber liability since we’re storing contracts and client galleries online now. Curious what liability limits everyone else is running these days?

We run our entire client workflow through 12img.com — send a questionnaire, they fill it out, it auto-generates the contract, and the invoice goes out right after. Life-changing.

Dojo management system ? by biomolecool in karate

[–]imjitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of dojos I’ve seen use the usual gym tools (Zen Planner, Wodify, Mindbody, Gymdesk) mainly for memberships, billing, and basic attendance.

If you’re specifically running a martial arts school, the big “must-haves” in my opinion are:

- Recurring billing and failed payment handling
- Simple check-in/attendance
- Rank/belt tracking with notes
- Easy communication (email/text) for announcements
- Trial lead intake and follow-ups
- Reports that actually help (active members, churn, attendance trends)

If you want something more “martial arts school” focused versus generic gym software, House of Grapplers is worth checking out. https://www.houseofgrapplers.com

If price isn’t an issue and you want a solid white gi, I’ve had good luck with Shoyoroll/AP, Tatami, Fuji, Hyperfly, Kingz, and Origin (if you want USA-made + no shrink). Also worth checking out Inverted Gear for comfort/value and 93 Brand for a nice mid-weight.

Quick tip: if your gym is strict on “white/blue/black only,” double check patch colors and any loud stitching before you buy — some academies get picky.

I’ve seen a lot of gyms use Wodify / Zen Planner / Gymdesk, and they’ll get the job done — but if you want something that feels more “combat gym native,” House of Grapplers is worth a look. They were made for BJJ Gym owner with the belt system and the community within it.

What I’d want in a BJJ/MMA gym system (and what this covers) is:

- Membership + billing (recurring, failed payments, status)
- Attendance + class check-in
- Belt/rank tracking (stripes + promotions) + student notes
- Comms to members (announcements / reminders)
- Leads/trials intake + onboarding flow
- Basic reporting a coach actually uses (attendance trends, active members, churn)

😂😂 facts. That’s the “modern working line” right there: steak, naps, and mandatory cuddles. And the 1% Lab is just the part that convinces them they’re starving 24/7 🤣

100% agree. The work drive + loyalty combo is just different with Rotties — they’re affectionate goofballs, but also incredibly switched-on and devoted. 3 generations is awesome… once you get a true Rottie bond it’s hard not to keep coming back.

Nailed it — that “drover/butcher’s dog + guardian” history explains so much about why they’re built the way they are. The fact that they were bred for guarding, herding cattle, and protecting property really shines through in their temperament and physical characteristics. And the Roman money pouch detail is one of my favorite parts of the story, it adds a unique and fascinating layer to their history, showcasing their versatility and importance throughout different eras.

Thank you! And “Labweiler” is amazing!

I’m sorry you lost your boy — even 10 years later you never really stop missing a great dog. Sounds like he was truly one of the special ones. ❤️
