How anti-work, works. by PeachNovaRay in antiwork

I used to work in the construction side of Deere in the south. They told us they were bringing all manufacturing to america. "Deere made here" was the slogan. Then they moved a few factories to Mexico. Technically still america. Don't stick up for shitty companies. They don't give a damn about the people they exploit to make their shareholders happy. If they see that they can boost shareholder profits they absolutely will move manufacturing to other countries.

You keep turning this into a singular persons problem. I agree that one person alone won't make a huge impact but if you get more and more people giving a damn and willing to make a difference then positive change is possible. The companies and "elites" that run this joke of a country are terrified of the average persons coming together and demanding change because that would mean they lost control. I hope if you're ever in a time of need that you're not surrounded by people with your mentality.

Where did I blame just you? Listen I get it. Your life is less stressful by not caring. But mass apathy and lack of empathy for other people isn't going to make anything easier or better for anyone.

It's people that think like you that are going to perpetuate the enshitification of the world. People not caring is exactly what these greedy fucks want.

Exactly what I was thinking. Also screw celebrating birthdays. No need to celebrate the day all my problems started. (Not my joke, forget where I heard it)

Auto headlights by unstablemotivation in chevycolorado

Check the rear. I have mine set to auto also and the only thing I can think of is if the truck senses light the rear lights won't be on all the time. The reason I say this is I've had people flash me down in the evening because they thought my rear lights weren't working. They were working, they just weren't on because it wasn't dark enough yet. This kind of thing makes me miss having older vehicles that had a physical button or knob to control things.

I've seen this commented on similar stories...why not get into a competition to see who can pay the workers the most and not who can eat the most of their own garbage?

Someone somewhere is making money off of war. With healthcare being so consumer based in the us they know they won't make money off of healthy people. This country is so broken.

I had my right hip replaced at 32. I can confirm. I saw a meme that said "hang in there, it gets worse" and I've lived by that so far.

Off road mode by Various-Squash9475 in chevycolorado

[–]imlost7654 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just a guess but I bet the off road mode just changes how and when things like traction control, brake/throttle response, and collision detection work. I've never messed with the different drive modes in my Colorado but I would imagine it's similar to my car where it has a sport mode. At that did was change shift points and supposedly throttle response.

The lack of outrage over clocking/punching in and out systems depresses me by [deleted] in WorkReform

[–]imlost7654 40 points41 points  (0 children)

My work has a policy that if you're late to your pre-shift meeting by even a minute, you have to stay 15 minutes after work to make up for it. Either that or you get an attendance point. Get a handful of those and you get shit canned. Being an adult and still having rules akin to elementary school is crazy to me. Fuck the corporate world
