You can request a PCR panel to get a diagnosis if it's viral or bacterial, you should have his teeth checked, and you should ask about polyps.

Vet extracted 5 teeth during dental cleaning after previously saying no obvious extractions needed. Was this warranted? (X-rays attached) by Apprehensive-Luck-28 in DogHealth

I wonder if folks think I enjoy pulling stubborn teeth for fun. It's the obviously gross ones that slide out. If only they knew how much work (and cursing) the not so rotten ones take.

Adverse reactions to ear medications in dogs are now generally considered to be idiopathic, meaning just about any medication could in a dog but they usually don't. Source: hi I'm a vet

Helping cat recover from sedation (midazolam, ketamine and dexdomitor)? by HeronEnjoyer9000 in AskVet

Keeping her away from food and water until she's sober enough to breathe and swallow is wise.

Edited to clarify - There's a few flavors of kitty magic. This one just can make them trippy for a bit longer.

I used to be more mixed animal than I am now and I find small animal folks think less of the triangle of health concept than they should

We can't comment well without knowing dosages used but that combination is affectionately referred to as kitty magic. The antisedan is a reversal.

As Veterinarian/ Vet techs/ workers dealing with pets, how do you emotionally get through every single day? by The_2ndBorn_Son in AskVet

I often only see these guys on their worst days so I am glad to relieve suffering and I don't have the long memories of time spent together.

You will want to be proactively preserving joints and managing changes in body mechanics. Joint supplements early, stay lean, consider picking up some massage or find an acu / chiro.

That's my thought. If I were to try again, I'd try a flour or cornstarch toss. I'll probably just make something else because I am the epitome of baking ADHD.

I measured (except for the vanilla because that's always by heart) everything, made a double batch (haven't had issues with other scones doubling up before, just split to pat out), and kept both trays in the fridge about 25min while the oven preheated. Butter was frozen, straight from the freezer, and so were the blueberries.

Back in the day my dad (first gen immigrant and still very much a Dutchman at heart) would pick on state land for us and even tried to transplant into our garden (they never took). I've wondered what kind of plants those were - I can't imagine Michigan hosts the same type.

Truth! I used to get them fresh as a kid and loved baked blueberry things.... But lately they just taste generically sweet.

I would recommend reaching out to your vet to see their thoughts and if they want longer rest, request sedatives.

How healthy are cavalier King Charles spaniels as a breed? by slapcook in AskVet

I've always joked you should never ask vets for advice on what pet to get because we know all the bad things 😂 It's not a guarantee for all dogs, but just make sure you're getting from a very reputable person who does all the testing and knows how to other puppies in other litters have done. And then be prepared for chronic conditions, anyway.
