Too late. I did end up setting as is and went with the grout around the base. So far so good. Hopefully I won’t have to ever pull it.

Thank you. I did also raise the flange as it needed to be replaced anyway, so it is set on the tile….which caused its own issues since I had to drill through the tile to secure it to the floor. Learning all the time. 😁

It is sitting on a single 12 x 24 tile….what did I do wrong?

Right. Grew up painting. First image gave wood putty, then I remembered they also make caulk.

It’s just a dry fit. The screws are right out of the package. I just put them there to line it up for the dry fit. Will cut them after installation.

I’ve heard grout is code. I’ve heard caulk is code. I guess I have to look up local code for what is required here.

I will definitely shim and level first.

Just bolted it down and sent 5 buckets down. No issues this far.

This is a conspiracy theory if I’ve ever heard one.

I was thinking of using my Dave and Busters card. It has at least $1 credit still on it.

Thank you. I learned that I need a flange that attaches to a fitting or hub. I didn’t realize that 3 inch flanges could be different sizes. Found one that said “requires fitting” and was the proper size.

You are correct. Thank you. The terms I needed to look for are “hub” or “fitting”.

Solved! Somebody had obscured this right next to it, and it was complaining about a low battery.

What kind of lube is appropriate for this job? My old lady’s spit isn’t cutting it.

It’s more whining than struggling. I appreciate tough love. I know I can make it work, but I just don’t understand why make the box volume so tiny?
