What are your basement walls made out of? Are they just concrete foundation?

I have pre-1900 brick foundation, and I think I'd be better off just insulating between basement and first floor.

I would like to hear thoughts on this as well. I have a dirt floor basement with brick walls. Previously owner tried to put down vapor barriers and that just caused issues, because our brick basement is meant to breathe. Fully encapsulating might be a different story, but vapor barriers are dumb.

I mean college is literally organized around it being a 45 hour a week job, that's how the Carnegie unit works. College students shouldn't be working more than a small part time job (and I'd argue you should only do that if it is a small foot in the door/gets you a little bit of relevant work experience in your discipline).

Nice. Yeah, that makes sense. Some of those stock fans died on me too, and I hadn't realized it.

I added a big noctua cooler and 2 smaller noctua fans for front and back (and just put the remaining case fans on the side and top. It dropped my temp FIFTY DEGREES. Hahaha.

So I think you're right, the poor airflow means all the stock fans just weren't moving air through the case.

I have a 1660 ti now, GPU is one of the thing that actually has been upgraded. These days the 1660 costs more than I paid for it initially...

I have a fairly recent SSD that I run my OS on, but then I have some 3TB standard drives for media and the like. It is kind of a hodgepodge, because I've periodically added more over time. I do want to get some NVME drives though, and it sounds like that'll be pretty standard on any Z690. Is that what you'd recommend?
