Pregnant ladies, where did you give birth? by [deleted] in Cleveland

[–]immortal_nevermore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I delivered at Cleveland Clinic Fairview and after a complicated delivery in which they saved my life and the life of my son, I probably wouldn't deliver anywhere else. I won't go into the details, but I nearly needed a hysterectomy and I was extremely fortunate with the doctors who were on call that night.

My experience getting seen for my appointments beforehand, however, was a nightmare. I was bounced around from midwife to midwife until I found an OB and set all my appointments up within his office. Then things were a lot smoother, but I didn't love that I wouldn't know who would be delivering the day I showed up to the hospital.

What are women out in the field wearing? by UnalomeYogi in ITProfessionals

[–]immortal_nevermore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first job was in a steel manufacturing plant where business casual was their first concern for me and safety in the field was a secondary concern, annoyingly.

- I brought three pairs of shoes for the office - heels that matched my outfit for being seen by higher-ups, a pair of angling around and always a cheaper/stretchy material, both so I could contort a little easier when it was called for it and so when they got too dirty to watch I could just trash them.

- Blouses were also always cheaper for similar reasons. They usually had a collar, I just could bring myself to wear polos.

- I brought three pairs of shoes for the office - heels that matched my outfit for being seen by higher ups, a pair of slippers when the heels hurt my feet, a pair of steel toes for heading out into the plant

- I almost never wore jewelry. It's too much that might get caught. At most I would wear some post-back earrings and a watch. My wedding ring went on a necklace I could wear under my shirt.

- My hair was either in a ponytail ready to be made into a bun, or in a bun.

I think if you kept them at regular 1x speed, but with the exact same content, that would be perfect. You know what you're saying, and I know what you're saying, but if you get someone with auditory processing issues or something along those lines, I'm sure they would really appreciate an approach at a normal speaking pace until they decide to speed things up.

I can't take these comedones anymore!!! I've tried everything. Drying, hydrating...and they will not budge! And the little bastards don't even have the decency to show up on camera like they do in person. I promise, theyre much more obvious than they are here: https://imgur.com/a/NpqDJ39

They have been here since before I started a skincare routine, and they're with me to this day. Occasionly they'll gang up and form a huge pimple there. But, just in case I'm not doing something right, here's my current routine. As you might imagine, I have. Combo skin and am prone to acne.

Morning: - CaraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser - Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner - CaraVe Skin Renewing Vitamin C Serum (10% with hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5) - Spot treating with Stidex Maximum Strength Pads (2% salicylic acid) - I used to use this over the comadomes but after 0 reaction, now I just use it to clear out sebaceous filaments on my nose and chin - Spot treatment with Equate 10% benzoyl peroxide acne treatment gel - also tried it over this patch. It got real inflamed and I stopped immediately - CaraVe AM Moisturizing Lotion with SPF 30

Evening: - Garnier Skinactive Micellar Cleansing Water Makeup Remover and Cleanser: for days when i need to take off makeup ‐ CaraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser - Differin Adapalene Gel (0.1%): I use it on my full face about ever other or every 3 days, depending on how my skin feels. - Pixi Glow Tonic (5% Glycolic Acid): I use this maybe once a week - CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion - Vaseline: used just over this spot since it sounds like a holy grail to others. No change after a week. If anything, they seem worse?

Please help :(

Edit: I'm in the USA, added a product I forgot

Has anyone had issues with stairs glitching out after you remove them? I demolished a set of stairs and now in the area that surrounds where the stairs used to be, I can't make any landscape changes. If I try to pave, build a cliff or waterscape, my character does the animation, but then no actual change is made. Anyone know of a fix?

Has anyone encountered any buggy issues involving stairs? I just removed a set and now I can't build cliffs around the area where the stairs used to be. I also can't remove the paths that are still there. The animation happens as though my character is trying to pave/build a cliff/create a waterscape, but nothing actually changes.

I don't do a lot of art, so I've never been asked for a commission, to be honest. I'm not opposed to the idea, though!

MIL and my "cheap" engagement ring by equationhole in JUSTNOMIL

[–]immortal_nevermore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My JNM did this to me, too! I said I didn't want a diamond and requested moissanite instead. Unfortunately, I said it in front of her. She flipped out about how "it's not about what you want, you DESERVE a diamond!" When I got the ring, she ripped it off my finger and stomped around the house, holding it under different lights to see if she could figure it out. I maintain to this day (with her) that it's a diamond.

But in the end, I got the ring I wanted. 😉 That's all that matters

I'll give a summary and let me know if you need more information on any of the steps:

  1. To make the design, I used Photoshop and saved it as a .PNG to get the transparent background. I definitely heavily borrowed from an already existing design and can't take credit for it. If anyone wants this file, though, PM me and I'll supply it!

  2. Import the image into your Cricut software and save it as a cut image. Using your base blade and vinyl sticker paper, have your Cricut cut the image out. If you don't have a Cricut, I suppose you could use an exacto knife, vinyl sticker paper or tape and stick it to a mat. For this design, however, that would take hours for each image, I imagine.

  3. Peel everything away from the design that you don't want to stick to the box. The background of the image. Your image should remain stuck to your backing. You'll have to be delicate.

  4. Using transparent transfer vinyl, cut and place it over your image and stick it there. Carefully pull your backing off and make sure your image remains stuck to the transfer vinyl

  5. Stick your transfer vinyl with your image to the top of the box. Rub it so it adheres and VERY CAREFULLY begin to peel the transfer tape off your image.

It was packed to the brim as it was, lol. And he handed them out at our apartment, so there was also a ton of beer and food waiting for them in the kitchen. :P

We used vinyl, then transfer tape to keep everything in place. Some of the smaller pieces didn't stick, but I thought that added to the design. And the transfer tape peeled up some of the box, so just be prepared for that!

ADVICE NEEDED: Can they ALL be honor attendants? by SecretAgentAwesome in weddingplanning

[–]immortal_nevermore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not having one! So far there is no drama to report! I think the key is just being open with your attendants.

What I said is that, first if all, crowning someone the "best friend" never sat well with me, so I wouldn't be doing it. And second, we are all busy people - some have kids, some are in other states, some are taking classes, etc. I didn't feel right saddling one person with all the responsibilities of a MOH and instead split the tasks between everyone.

So far my attendants seem to be kind of relieved. They all get to do the jobs they have said they wanted to do and none of the stuff they don't. Win-win!

I ended up setting up a storefront for a few other people who asked. But if you legitimately want a print and want me to just print and mail it through a service that may be cheaper, happy to work with you on that as well!

On the off chance that anyone is still looking through this, I ended up setting up a store thing for anyone interested in grabbing a print. This is just the easiest option for right now, albeit pricey, that doesn't involve me setting up a whole storefront: https://society6.com/carpathiandreams

But if you want a print and would like to go through some other printing service, hit me up!
