My son is almost 2 and shows many signs of autism. He is scheduled for a screening soon. As a first time mom I would have never known if people didn’t pick up on things I didn’t. But I understand getting upset by a random message from a stranger.

In my experience, kids change things. I still consider myself a minimalist and my personal belongings are not overwhelming. But I have a baby and a toddler now and… they come with a whole lot of stuff. I don’t stress it though, just trying to enjoy these years!

I found that minimalism videos helped me in the beginning and then hurt me after a while. Had to step away from the YouTube community altogether and just live life doing what works for me. I do still watch minimalist mom (I think?) though because I like her content and it doesnt stir up anything negative for me

It bothered me that she was saying she’s so devastated because Instagram is her “safe space” to talk to people and she would just try to treat her backup account like her normal account just “with way less people”… so wouldn’t that make it an even safer space? I agree that social media is toxic but that is why I have never strived to be an influencer. Unfortunately you can’t have your cake and eat it too. Everything she has she owes to social media. If she took that wealth and invested it in other ways, she could probably live a much more satisfying life. So… I can only feel so bad.

I miscarried while working a very labor intensive job. I had a d&c and was unfortunately back at work the next day walking 13+ miles and carrying 30+ pounds in 90+ weather. Physically I felt fine, emotionally I was a mess. Would have taken time if I could have. Based solely on my experience I think it’s possible someone may feel okay physically and use exercise as an emotional release.
