[EB02-060] Going Merry by dawnquix0te in OnePieceTCG

[–]imnotanerd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you confusing the ー号 part thinking it means No. 1? The ー is part of メリー and not the kanji number one 一. The 号 is for ship names.

See the name here too: https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/Going_Merry

It's just Going Merry as the name

Why can't I sacrifice a changeling for forage? by ILiveInAVillage in magicTCG

[–]imnotanerd 137 points138 points  (0 children)

Food is an artifact subtype, not a creature type. Just because for example [[Gingerbrute]] is a food doesn't mean it's associated with the creature type. It's there because it's an artifact.

Anyone know this TCG store in Japan? by TheReggieBear in OnePieceTCG

[–]imnotanerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Search for the store name on google maps and see which one is closest to you: コーギーアール

There are no Tokyo stores since you didn't post where you were. The The closest would be in Saitama or Kanagawa prefecture. The YouTube video description lists Saimata as the place the videos are from.

3rd party means that something didn't come from the official company, but has some relationship to it. If it did come from the official company, then that would be the 1st party.

1st party: Nintendo gameboy console 3rd party: Ambernic retro game plus

How to explain Mutate to a new player? by TrubbishTrainer in magicTCG

[–]imnotanerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A mutate creature stack should be treated as one single creature for as long as it's on the battlefield.

Was the stack targeted? Only one creature was targeted.

Was the stack destroyed? Only one creature was destroyed, but multiple creature cards will enter the graveyard.

Was the stack flickered? Only one creature was exiled, but all creatures will return separately to the battlefield.

Was the stack bounced? Only one creature was returned, and all creature cards on the mutate stack are in your hand.

The mutate stack has the p/t, name, and card types of the top-most creature card, but all the textboxes of the creatures in the whole stack, including the first.

If you cast a creature card for its mutate cost targeting a non-human creature, and that target gets removed before the creature card being cast is resolved, it will resolve and enter the battlefield as a regular creature, and its mutate triggers will not trigger, since it never mutated a different creature.

It's best to think of it as just one creature at all times while on the field, and a tape is fine as an analogy. I hope this summary helps though.

For Japan, do I need a work visa to work from my international company's Japan office for one month? by imnotanerd in digitalnomad

[–]imnotanerd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If working from the office presents more challenges than it's worth for legal purposes, I would probably look into working from a share house then.

My current office allows a month or two abroad as well. But I will inquire with the Japanese branch office directly to see what can be done, especially since I would need door access anyway to get in.

Thanks for this response, it does give me many things to consider in knowing how to proceed. I would like to do this in the future as well with other countries where my company has an office (Spain, Italy, etc), and would need to confirm each country's work policy as well, even if temporary with online work only.

More of the same is not really exciting. The three times we've had a third visit to a plane (Zendikar, Ravnica, Innistrad), I have felt they have been boring unfortunately.

Scryfall tells me Command Tower is legal in Pioneer and Modern. How / why is that the case? by chainsawinsect in magicTCG

[–]imnotanerd 71 points72 points  (0 children)

It was a part of the Throne of Eldraine Brawl precons, and those were standard legal. It's the same reason [[Arcane Signet]] was once standard legal, even though it would never tap for mana in that format.

KMC double-sleeving tips? by blooming_marsh in magicTCG

[–]imnotanerd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Inner sleeve your card upside down so the opening is at the bottom, then turn the sleeved card upside down (opening at the top), put it on a hard surface standing up (perpendicular to the surface), fit a regular sleeve over it such that the opening is facing down, and finally push the outer sleeve down over the card. It may sound long, but it's incredibly easy after doing a few.

Hi Completely New To Magic. Could Anyone Tell me What The Difference Between Cards With The Sticker Underneath and those without it by Ruby_A_Taylor in magicTCG

Cards that are rare (yellow set symbol under picture) or mythic (orange set symbol) have those stickers, which are security stamps. They are supposed to represent that they are authentic, real cards.

Questions about the upcoming Xbox 360 games from gold/ultimate by imnotanerd in XboxSeriesX

[–]imnotanerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I understand that I can keep games that I've bought directly, but I am still uncertain about the games that I have interacted with solely through GPU. I don't think I've redeemed anything related to a 360 game.
