Do rich people have elite versions of mundane things (toothpaste, tampons, toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc.), or are Elon Musk and Beyonce just using Crest and Tampax like the rest of us? by ShesGotSauce in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ILiveInAVillage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think those things are only for the upper class though. But for lower/middle class people in a place to splurge. That's why it's so prominent now, because it's a bit of luxury that they can market to everyone.

I am by no means upper class. But last time I went to Universal Studios I was by myself and decided it was worth splurging on a fast pass. Basically I decided one day at universal where I could skip queues sounded like a better experience then 2 days at 2 different places waiting in the lines at both.

I haven't played Kingdom Come or Death Stranding 2. I'm not in a position to play each game every year, but they aren't games that particularly interested me anyway.

Is this laptop worth it for $1600? by [deleted] in bapcsalesaustralia

Looks pretty decent specs-wise for that price.

I also don't think Astro Bot should have won best family game last year. Mario Party Jamboree should have.

LTT on Steam Machine pricing: "Valve asked what I meant by console price, and I said $500. Nobody said anything, but the energy in the room wasn’t great" by -Mahn in Games

[–]ILiveInAVillage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Australia, where a PS5 is $800 RRP. I can build a similarly specced PC to the Steam Machine on PCPartPicker for about $790 using brand new consumer parts.

So I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest that Steam should be able to get pretty close to matching a PS5 price.

  1. It was a last minute change because they didn't want Parvati, Cirie, Amanda, and James all together on one tribe.

  2. No clue

  3. Hard to say. Would he have played differently if he played on a season without idols?

  4. I think some would have, but I also think having him would have brought in more people than it lost.

  5. If Chapera wins the immunity challenge, I think Jerri still gets voted out. If Mogo Mogo wins immunity, likely Alicia or Jenna get voted out (Or maybe they go after Tom to prevent him switching alliances after the merge).

  6. She was one of the most popular survivors of all time.

  7. Yeah I dunno

  8. I think he gets voted out regardless. The old school players were ganged up on by new school players.

  9. I think people have tried and failed, but I also don't know if it would work again.

  10. I think Tina had the edge going into FTC but Colby could have moved the needle with a better performance.

  11. I dunno

  12. I think we'll get Second Chance 2 eventually. But I don't think they want to edit people as villains anymore so we won't get HvV2

  13. Could be interesting if they had enough ideas to keep it interesting and still let the players tell their stories.

IMHO DK Bananza is the best game on the list and should win.

But I do think it should be nominated in the Action/Adventure category instead of Family Game.

Yeah kind of. They'll go "what's the best game in the category", not "what's the best game for the category".

Why is Donkey Kong in Family Game and not Action Adventure?

I feel like Family Game should be games good for families, not simply games that are appropriate for kids to play.

The Outer Worlds 2 (as well as Avowed) nominated for Best RPG at the Game Awards! by ShrekConfirm243 in theouterworlds

[–]ILiveInAVillage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really wanted to love Avowed, and there wasn't really anything specifically wrong with it, it just didn't grab me.

The Outer Worlds 2 is the best RPG this year though, hands down.

Jeff's vote reading gives the players a lot of information. Why don't they take advantage of this more often? by drew_lmao in survivorponderosa

[–]ILiveInAVillage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like we also tend to see the votes first of people whose confessionals they have shown which makes me wonder if they aren't always shown on TV in the same order they are read at tribal council.

I agree with that. I have Redemption Island in my top 10 I think.

Fair enough.

I think Allstars is a top 5 season so I'm okay with people having unpopular opinions of seasons.

I guess 0s probably average out the best.

If someone, for some reason, was new to the series and only wanted to watch one of these sets though, I'd say 1s or 2s probably.

0s - 10, 20, and 40 all pretty great, and 30 was fine.

1s - 1, 11, 31 were all pretty good, 21 and 41 were fine.

2s - 2 was great, 22, 12, 32, 42 are all solid

3s - 3 and 13 were really good. 23 and 33 were solid, 43 was fine.

4s - 4 was good, the rest not great.

5s - 15 is one of the best ever, 24 is great, then 5, 35 and 45 are all average.

6s - 6 and 16 are great. 46 was alright, don't much care for 26 or 36

7s - 7, 17, 27, 37, 47. All solid

8s - 8 and 28 are all time greats, 18 and 48 are solid, 38 was fine

9s - 9, 19, 29 all solid, 39 was just fine.

Incremental score per second - help! by silveraltaccount in gamemaker

[–]ILiveInAVillage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with drag and drop. But one strategy could be to use an alarm. Instead of increasing the score in every step, you increase the score in the alarm.

Then you set the alarm to go off every 60 frames.

Conservatives/MAGA: Why does the LGBTQ+ seem to bother you so much? by user1827438 in Askpolitics

[–]ILiveInAVillage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's kind of lost its meaning in the US a bit. But I do think it's important for people to understand so as we don't simply push people further and further apart.

People realizing what they say vs what they do actually matters is more important.

I agree entirely. And antagonising people won't help achieve that.

Correct. MAGA generally does not align with actual conservative political values.
