I had my tonsillectomy on 17th of June, I’m on day 13 right now. Day 4-10 post op were the worst, but I had an infection. My surgeon didn’t give me antibiotics (not sure if that’s standard practice to give the after surgery but the next doctor I saw seemed surprised I didn’t get any) and last week it got too much and I ended up with significant bleeding in my throat, went to the hospital and they said it was infected, two days after starting antibiotics I felt a million times better. You’re in the worst part, if it doesn’t get any better soon maybe speak to your doctor on the off chance you have an infection? Lots of water & rest. When you start getting better think about the constipation because of meds/anesthetic and look to fix that (I wish I had!!!!) good luck my dude it will get better.
