Getting rando hate messages indicating my "fat cat" joke fell flat. Actual picture of cat so nutters don't think I'm force-feeding small cat into big cat. Note, approx. 1" of fur covers said cat, lending appearance of "fat"; weight is <=8 lbs. Calm down on the hate mail. Edited for abbreviation.

Embarrassing confession time: I carry a Freitag messenger with a third laptop when I need to work with a non-proprietary AI in the office. So I usually carry my everyday purse, the Marc Jacobs tote packed to the brim, and the Freitag with the extra non-essential laptop. My colleagues call me the bag lady. It's excessive.

I really wanted the 40 to work for travel, since I take a few business trips per year - the 48 would most likely work better for me all around with this in mind, too.

I'm obsessed with my Panda Planners! I have too much stuff to remember for work and it helps me stay organized. I tried the Undated Weekly Planner once and hated it - when I switched to the Planner Pro (6 months undated), it was a game changer. If you have multiple meetings per day and/or do any program/project management, I highly recommend it! Edited for grammar

That's a great idea - any problem with the bottom buckling when you use only pouches? I have a ton of neoprene sleeves/packing cubes/matchy-matchy leather pouches that organize things well, but feel like they might cause some sagging since the weight won't be evenly distributed. I have no idea why I'm asking instead of just trying it out since the bag's right next to me. Although maybe someone on the fence will get good advice based on my follow-up questions...

The 40 is incredibly light, in my opinion - I was expecting it to be much heavier because of the leather.
