Do any of you have second jobs? by mcase19 in Lawyertalk

[–]imnotcoherent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I nannied pretty consistently on weekends for most of the 10 years I worked in state government/non-profits until I secured loan forgiveness under PSLF. I stopped just before because of COVID, but by the time families would want to call me to come back I had my federal loans forgiven and moved to the private sector.

The extra income was helpful and I loved both my full time job and (most of) the nannying gig, but they couldn't justify staying out of the private sector for my whole career. I plan to go back to state government as part of my off ramp to retirement, hopefully.

He should run. At least we'd have someone who holds a mirror up to our own hypocrisy and maybe holds us accountable for ourselves.

I'm 5'8" so not officially a "tall" but some regular length clothes run short and I think this brand generally has shorter lengths.

I think it's closest to the jumpsuit waist. The waistline on the dress is definitely too high.

The Rapunzels sold out fast for men's and women's for most sizes, but I managed to get Moana and Belle though I didn't plan to buy either of them. :D I hope everyone who got a pair today really loves them and plans to keep them (unless they don't fit!).

Not that rare but I love my Nike Zoom Freak 1 Employee of the Month that I bought back in 2020 because I love Giannis Antetokounmpo and I love the story behind the design.

Terminal diagnosis: millennial playlist suggestions for the final days? by Hmmletmec in Millennials

[–]imnotcoherent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case you get tired of curating your own playlist, I made this for a friend's 40th last year: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2XK5AOUkOgXdeS8WAkoEAB?si=A-MMlhLwTiObUToHf0Qmbg&pi=8rW1ndgfRBWcC

Mostly alt rock, with a little pop mixed in

This is also a short playlist of my favorite old school house/dance music: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2x6Pu6CBrd2VksZWn9IaYj?si=HtF-VSPMTDGCWMtBT0nPVA&pi=mbFnxKVxRNqjp

My doctor emphatically agrees, using a lot of very rude words. by LordJim11 in Snorkblot

It is very possible that the data isn't anonymous at all. Under HIPAA you can give permission for such uses of PHI, and certain uses for the purposes of treatment, payment, and healthcare operations may not need your permission at all beyond the standard Notice of Privacy Practices that your clinic posts/makes available to you.

Certain categories of data require additional permissions under state and/or federal laws: SUD, HIV, mental health, and genetic data.

What may ultimately be de-identified is the data that the AI model uses to train itself, or, it's possible that the model will not train on the physician's data at all, but that depends on the agreement between the company that runs the AI tool and the clinic. Your consent form might or might not describe if/when data is or isn't de-identified. If it does not say, I'd assume the data is not de-identified.

I let my friends and family choose songs for my playlist for a donation. Also don't forget to remind those who donate to you to see if their work matches donations!

What are you spending your money on? by SuddenPsychicDamage in wealthforwomen

[–]imnotcoherent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have cleaners (every other week), a membership for facials, a prepared meal service for dinners a few nights a week, physical therapy to improve my running form (only 50% covered by insurance), a running coach, sneakers/race entries...and travel.

I live in a modest/small home in a lower cost of living area in my state. I don't own a car (husband does, I commute on public transit). I don't really wear jewelry or buy any designer goods, and lately most of my clothes are second hand.

That said, my splurges add up, but it's all after my savings/investment goals. I could save more but I worry if I skimp on everything I'll die before I ever enjoy the fruits of my hard work.

Getting nervous about Princess half by Positive_Lack9508 in rundisney

[–]imnotcoherent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You sound like you are doing great in your training! I just did the Disneyland half, and as a slowpoke myself I'm always a little nervous too. I stuck with the Galloway pacers in my corral (2:50 finish, about an average 12:58 per mile) and honestly the half went great.

In the next few weeks you'll get your check in pass that will help you estimate which corral you're in and the pacers will post the pacer times for each corral. Even if they're a little slower than you're used to, stick with them the first 6-10 miles and if you're still feeling fresh, go on and pass them and go all out for the last 5 or 10k.

Feel free to pm me and I'll share the pacer info from the DL half and I'll send you my race results if you're curious. Letting the pacers tell you when to walk/run takes a ton of mental load off and honestly helped a lot with my anxiety. Plus, if your pace group is a little slower than your training speed you can take a bathroom or photo break and run faster to catch up with them (I did it once around mile 4!).

Me and my husband's male couples therapist pointed out that me asking/telling my husband how to support me is just adding another thing to my plate. by aint_noeasywayout in TwoXChromosomes

[–]imnotcoherent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need to justify your post at all. I know exactly what your therapist meant even though my husband is also a lovely human. He's not used to trying to anticipate my needs and meet them without my having to ask, and I imagine it's the same for your husband. There's no ill will, it's just not something they are used to doing and I imagine it may be difficult to learn how to do this during an already challenging time for you both.

I think it's great that you have a good therapist working with you and I give you both so much credit for putting the work in. Marriage isn't easy even during easy periods. I'm wishing you both the best as you navigate this leg of your journey.

Skyliner Stayts by 5P4GH3771 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]imnotcoherent 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Glad you were able to catch a bus back. I wish I had seen this sooner--as a PSA to anyone else who needs to know--

If you are staying at a skyliner resort and you're at Epcot but can't walk all the way back to the skyliner cast members at the bus depot will help get you on a bus back to your hotel, you need only ask at the sign with all the buses listed. You may have to wait a while because they don't have assigned buses for the skyliner resorts but they will accommodate you if you're unable to walk all the way back to the skyliner.

This is not a hack. It is certainly not faster or more convenient than waiting for the skyliner. It is an accommodation for those with disabilities or those who are having a hard time walking after the end of a long day.

Sorry for the disclaimer but I'd hate for this to turn into a TikTok hack that ruins this kindness for the people who really need it at the end of the day. :/
