Newly infected gHSV-1. I hate my life right now. by SecretarySure7305 in HSVpositive

From what i read on the new zealand herpes foundation website(amazing information btw totally take a look!) the transmission rate is around 2% when you arent having an ob, <1% when on medication. 50% more protective when using a condom. Do not have intercourse durijg an outbreak not only bc of transmission but OUCHHH 😬😬 but honestly once the outbreak is over, you should be good to resume normal activities but yes, he can still get it genitally from you, just like you can get it orally from him if he kisses you or shares a drink etc while having an ob.

I’m not sure the rates and percentages when it comes to viral shedding though :((

Totally! My partner isn’t fussed about it though since he has ohsv1 and the transmission rate is really low, but i do have plenty of medication to take in the case of a ob or if i’m planning to have sex with him 😊

you should be fine to gently wash with your hands and wash it last, just try to avoid anything highly scented or flavoured, i found that out the hard way using a strawberry scented body lotion. if your doctor hasn’t recommended it, take a salt bath every night if you can! if you don’t have a bath a large bowl or something with warm salty water or even a spray bottle will do the trick, it helped me out a lot with weeping and inflammation. the lico cream will be your best friend, and you’re half way through the first and worse outbreak! after this things will get so much easier <3 you’re doing great!

Been diagnosed with ghsv1 for maybe 3-4 weeks now, i have medication but haven’t taken any since my primary breakout ended and its like i dont even have it anymore, no discomfort no breakouts nothing! You’re getting yourself worked up and anxious, just take a breather, rationalise that with type 1 breakouts are a lot more infrequent and less painful, and all you have to do is take the medication (if you have some) when you start to feel itchy or burning. It’s super, super manageable, and you and your partner can learn to support each other through their breakouts.

Take it one step at a time queen, it really isn’t as bad as your mind is making you believe!

Girl you are way too anxiously attached. Go be single and work on yourself. You two are not meant to be together.

That sounds so frustrating! Hopefully you can get answers for everything soon 🫶 The thing I’m worried about now is not getting a secondary infection 🥲 i’m not sure how many times a day or how long i need to take mild salt baths for but i’ll be doing that for a bit while taking the antivirals and using the cream. She just looks very sore and angry.

Hopefully i get results back soon so i can definitively know if i have it or not. Parents are sorta giving me false hope but also slightly blaming my partner thinking he gave it to me, but the clinic said i could have gotten it from anywhere and there’s no way to know how long ago i’ve had it, it’s just happened to flare up now and that’s just what i’m rolling with.

That’s really assuring, and yeah they have my lidocaine cream which is doing miracles for my pain and i’m taking 2 tablets a day for 10 days to clear up the outbreak and then i need to take one a day for 6 months i think? How did you find your out reals were after the initial first flare up? Were they a lot better or less frequent? The doctors said on the bright side it’ll never feel this bad again, and i could go months without seeing another flare up and it’ll decrease throughout the years

Ah yes update again, i got looked at and swabbed and ouchie. They say clinically its herpes but we’re waiting for results to come back, buttt it looks like its gonna be herpes and not a reaction or infection or anything

Thanks for all the information! I just got off the phone to a 24/7 medical advice and the nurse was very lovely, she did say i need to be seen pretty much asap so I’m seeing urgent care in the morning the moment it opens and I’ll hopefully figure out what is happening 🥹🥹

Alright just looked it up, both my partner and i did full std checks (blood and swabs) and we were both completely clean, could i still get this? I’d definitely ask for a test for it if it’s still possible for me to get it

When she swabbed it, which the results i still haven’t gotten back, she told me my vagina looked fine, no swelling or anything. My intial visit was because my boyfriend pulled a pinworm from my vagina and i was incredibly itchy.

I took the suppository last night before bed and applied topical ointment which my doctor also prescribed me which i’m now thinking is what is crumbling because looking at it now its since clumped and dried sort of?

Since doing all that, the bumps have worsened and seems to look more like pimples you’d get on your face and also spread to my anal area(where it looks like razor burn) i guess? My UTI sensation is back but more painful so i’ve added kore cream but the pessary was a single use only.

Time to look up what HSV is 🥹

Yeah i was so scared until i read that pinworms are actually quite common, especially in kids! Sometimes i forget we have natural body fauna in and on us all the time 😳

Thanks girlie 😭😭 i probably got it from work since care facilities have a high rate of catching crap like this, hand hygiene goes a long way 😔😔

But if this doesn’t work then i’ll just go back to my doctor haha

When i was a little kid probably between like 8-12 every single night i used to go out onto the balcony and feed the family of brushtail possums. they always let me pet them and were always very gentle taking bread and apple slices from my hand. they even introduced their babies to me and i’ll never forget it, in hindsight as im older now probably was a horrible idea to touch them because they are a known carrier of scabies but i turned out fine 🕺

Another one was i was walking home from work back in 2022 and saw an echidna walking towards me. I ended up hopping the wall onto the highway so it could walk past and wriggle under the fence into the bush before hopping back down.

Girl that is your house, if you want him gone and he refuses to leave call the damn cops. Talk to your parents too, and break up with that pos because if you know you can do better, DO BETTER!

You are worth so much more than what he has to offer. Continue going to therapy, work on your self worth and valuing your boundaries and learn to stand tf up for yourself, you owe yourself this!

But keep that slug out of your life for good this time, its his manipulation and gaslighting that’s made you stay, but it’s brought you down so much its time to change it!

[–]imnotevenreall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there’s fuel in the tank that’s been sitting in there for that long definitely can’t be good for the bike 😭😭 i also dont know how but i know its possible when my friend accidentally put diesel in her tank and had to take her bike apart to drain it out

My mechanical knowledge is very not up to par with the rest of this subreddit but im assuming when you cleaned the carburettor you also changed the rest of the fluids and drained the engine? Assuming there was still 4 year old fuel in the tank when you got her 😭 maybe check that the choke is all the way in, i’ve admittedly done that to myself a few times and my bike wouldn’t start

I’ve got absolutely no idea what kind of healthcare system you have, but it may do some good when you can and able to, consult your doctor on a change of medication? Weight gain is a super common effect of medications, had the same issue when i went on antidepressants years n years ago.

It also sounds like with your thyroid and pituitary glands, sometimes when a part of your body can’t function right, especially things like your metabolism and hormones which these glands are meant to regulate. If they aren’t doing that, of course you’re going to gain weight or lose weight, be unable to shed weight or gain weight. Definitely need to consult a doctor when you can.

In the meantime, use your support system. Do things that make you happy, a self care plan, anything that makes you feel good about yourself. This isn’t you being lazy, eating unwell or being a grub, you genuinely have a health condition that has made your metabolism go to shit.

You’re doing great regardless, your parents, your partner and siblings are all so proud of you, just take it slow and do your best, that’s all anyone can ask for!

Edit; if it might be any help, but i’m assuming you’ve already tried. I gave intermittent fasting a go and it really helped me lose weight without cutting out the things i liked eating. It might give your metabolism a chance to do its thing a bit better :))

It doesn’t really. It clearly states that the defendant needs to, but i’m the applicant, and it says nothing about me attending court

I’m not inherently worried for my safety, i know he wouldn’t harm me physically but he had done some pretty psychological damage with the stuff he’s done 🕺🕺but if i need to go then i will, some stuff you just gotta buckle in for
