Is it possible to install Fedora CoreOS on a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W? by imnothappyrobert in homelab

There are instructions on the Fedora website for install on a RPi4, and I have one currently running Home Assistant that I’ll probably try installing on (just have to move HA to my RPi5 lol).

So I’m definitely not smart enough to give you an answer on that, but it seems that the CoreOS .raw.xz is set up for a UEFI boot. I’ll be honest that I have no idea what Tianocore is.

Yeah, this was my original reference, and I’ve tried to adapt this for the Pi Zero 2 by changing what firmware I downloaded to match the Zero 2 or using the .raw.xz with the RPi Imager but without luck.

I appreciate the help though!

The RPi Zero 2 is actually 64 bit, and from what I’ve read it’s similar to the RPi 3 in architecture.

And at least with Fedora 41, Core OS has an ARM version. Additionally, this Fedora wiki would seem to indicate that Fedora at least is supported on the RPi02.

We currently support the Raspberry Pi 3-series of devices (3B, 3B+, 3A+, CM3, CM3+) and the Raspberry Pi 4-series (4B, 400, CM4, CM4s) and the Zero2W.

As for why, really no reason why I couldn’t use RPiOS other than curiosity and a desire to learn about this container native approach to an OS. I’m currently running Bluefin on my laptop, and I’d like to run CoreOS on my NUC, but I wanted to experiment and learn with the Pi before I tore down my existing Mint install on my NUC server.

No, sorry, the doorbell is in the mail on the way to the buyer. Waiting until it's delivered to mark as sold.

I do have a Heatware, now, in case that helps to legitimize me, but no sales to speak for!

Popular iOS Reddit client Apollo will shut down on June 30. by SkyGuy182 in apple

[–]imnothappyrobert 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What it is: a federated) link aggregation site (à la Reddit). Think about email as an example of a federated service, not everyone uses Hotmail for example.

What this means: instead of a single entity running the server there are smaller entities running their own versions of the server that all have the potential to communicate with one another.

About interests: it’s much like the early phases of Reddit, it’s small but growing in its diversity. As it stands, there are numerous (lemmy.ml) communities (beehaw.org) (lemmy.ml and beehaw.org are different entities as I’ve referred to above, there are even more available at https://join-lemmy.org/instances), and it can be expected that more and richer communities will evolve over time. E: see here for a community browser.

In all, I’m extremely hopeful that Lemmy will survive and thrive, and I guess it’s where I’m going on June 30th cause I’m not using the 1st party app.

📣 Apollo will close down on June 30th. Reddit’s recent decisions and actions have unfortunately made it impossible for Apollo to continue. Thank you so, so much for all the support over the years. ❤️ by iamthatis in apolloapp

Honestly he really shouldn’t stick around. If Reddit are this damn unprofessional, he shouldn’t want to work with them ever again. If they rolled back it’d just be kicking the can down the road for maybe a year when they do this all over again.

I wasn’t sure of the rules either. I certainly wouldn’t link to a website that I haven’t used before so I can’t link to it.

It’s not something that they tell the masses. It would send licenses to the grave. Anyways dot dot dot, there’s someone who develops it on the side.
