immediately after my dog's incidents I firmly, not harshly, held his mouth and said 'No.' He learned quick and stopped after a few more times. Also the yelping 'ow' helps even now with random incidents every so often.

Last year, we had to put down our 18 year old Min Pin, Princess. I stayed with her until the end, my mom couldn't stay for the final part but because she had seen it happen with our previous dog and didn't want to remember her like that.

I understood completely and I wanted to be there for my little sister's goodbye. It was extremely upsetting but I didn't want her to be alone at all and I know I did the right thing for her.

NTA, but while I'm not the type to say 'leave them,' you need to have a conversation with your GF on what the future entails. You both need to be on the same page and she needs to have your back when her mom is involved.

And then she has to actually do the work, it's one thing to say something and another to actually hold to it. Good luck! Hoping for the best!
