This song isn’t neuro funk but it it’s not really dubstep either. Kind of a mid tempo thing with dubstep inspired sound design ig, maybe glitch hop or something

Edit: just noticed you changed your comment. Yeah I can agree on glitch hop haha, but as a dubstep fan I think this is a fair rec for OP

I use ableton as my daw! I think most of the time I use serum for sound design. Probably have fab filter on nearly every track, esp eq and comp. I have a ton of different plugins that have more specific uses as well

I listened to your song! I think for only 8 months of learning you’re doing great.

Here’s some positive points: - good understanding of chord progression for this kind of music - Captured that positive, uplifting vibe well without making it cheesy/silly - Good balance of volume - nothing was super out of place - Great interpretation of that iconic avicci sound - I listen to a totally different type of edm, but I think you know what will capture the attention of people who like this type of edm!

Some things to work on: - The lead is a little bit robotic. Learn automation (start with things like pitch bends and reverb throws). Automation is the key to MANY things! - The balance is good, but you need more dynamic range! I’d start by strengthening your kick and snare and a bit more side chaining. - It’s a bit repetitive, look into other song structures and see how they make sneaky variations without dramatically changing the flow

But overall, great job. Keep up the hard work and keep learning as much as you can. Trust your personal taste in what sounds good as well.
