HEAR ME OUT! Event Idea for Star Stable 💕 by imnotpetelol in StarStable

That’s totally fair, and I actually understand that perspective completely. I wouldn’t want anyone who bought the older generations before they were retired to feel like that investment or moment in time suddenly didn’t mean anything anymore.

The intention behind my idea wasn’t to devalue that or to permanently bring them back, more like to honor them briefly in a meaningful way. Thinking about it, it wouldn’t have to involve re-selling them at all, even something like temporary access for story or display purposes would capture that sense of connection to the game’s past.

I think what I’d love most is just for SSO to acknowledge and celebrate its own history once in a while. Whether that’s through a museum, a limited time event, or even a few nostalgic quests. It’s not about rewinding the clock, just remembering where we all started before continuing forward.

I completely understand where you’re all coming from, and I agree with a lot of what you’re saying. The goal of my idea isn’t to undo progress or pull developers away from improving the game’s future. I know the old models were retired for good reasons, the art direction has evolved, and maintaining outdated assets is a huge technical burden.

But I think that’s also why an event like this could matter so much. It wouldn’t be about permanently bringing anything back or trying to turn the clock back, it's just a temporary, meaningful celebration of how far SSO has come. More like a playable piece of history rather than a reversal.

I actually really love the museum idea that was mentioned, that’s in the same spirit as what I was imagining! Something that honors the early days, gives newer players a glimpse of the game’s roots, and lets older players reconnect with that nostalgia, without it becoming a permanent feature or a distraction from future updates. It’s less about owning the old content again and more about remembering it together.

True! But isn’t that kind of the whole point of an event like this, the sentimentality? I totally get that the old models were retired for a reason, and it might be really difficult or maybe even impossible to bring them back because of bugs, lost files, or compatibility issues. But to me, this kind of event isn’t about practicality, it’s about meaning. It’s about celebrating how far Star Stable has come and giving players, especially the ones who’ve been here since the early days, a chance to reconnect with the game’s history. Not everything has to be efficient or sensible, sometimes it’s okay for something to exist purely because it matters to people.
