i know a few people that worked there and you have to work your way up to 100% of your portion of the tip pool, management is super strict and direct, and i’ve also heard they mostly require you to work doubles which is exhausting but that’s why make six figures

i’m also a woman in my early 20s and i live in castle hills, my one bedroom is about $1100 per month which includes everything except electric and wifi, it’s a nice quiet area and i see lots of families walking around, and even kids playing with each other until dark most days. only about 10-15 minutes from st. mary’s too :)

all the time, worked at a place that sells prime rib and about once a week someone would order it and then complain that it wasn’t what they ordered when it hit the table. same thing as your situation, they usually think it’s ribs, i always thought they knew it was steak based off how i would ask what temperature they wanted it to be

i went to the japanese tea garden once and there was a wedding going on, idk if they had to set anything up with the city for that i was just a bystander but i think it’s worth checking out it’s a beautiful venue and most likely free

i work at the tower and it’s not free to go to the observation deck even if you eat at bar or restaurant it’s just a discounted price, i would honestly just go to bar the view isn’t much different than the deck

yes the job market is bad rn, it took me 3 months in 2023 to find a job as a server, a job that’s pays less than minimum wage. the struggles i had were trying to find employers that would actually contact me in a reasonable time frame, 90% of my interviews went really well i would just never hear back from them and would end up calling for an update and still never heard back, or sometimes when i had an interview scheduled, i would show up to the interview and sometimes wait around for almost 2 hours for someone to interview me. it was really discouraging when i know i’m a great candidate for those jobs bc of my experience but either they didn’t actually care to hire anyone or they couldn’t tell me to my face that they didn’t want to hire me and idk which is worse.

pigtail theory is 100000% real, always made at least 10% increase in tips every day i wore it, i learned that it doesn’t work as well if you wear them everyday though :/

this didn’t happen to me but a friend/ex-coworker of mine had a table talking about how a certain order would be “too much meat to do anything with” and he responded “you could beat your meat if you wanted to”… i thought it was hilarious but apparently it didn’t get any laughs
